Brewed this yesterday. Used 2row instead of maris otter (local shop screwed up), and added an extra half pound of it to make 6.5gal pre boild. Hit 70% efficiency with 5 gal at 1.060. Also used cascade pellets instead of whole hops. Will dry hop in a few weeks. Thanks for the recipe Yooper.

Tasted a bit bitter and cidery after a week in the keg. Slight sweetness to it though. Used Nottingham and followed the AG recipe exactly. Will the bitterness and cider flavor mellow out? Hoping I didn't get an infection.

Any chance two ball lock cornys will fit in there?

Just bottled. FG 1.011. Primed with 7.2 oz of sugar in 5.5 gal. Already tastes delicious.

Just made this as my first AG. OG was 1.044, a bit low but still 65% efficiency according to Beersmith. Made this by special request of the wife, but can't wait to try it myself.

Holy crap that was a lot of work. Extract recipe, second brew ever. Ended up using 13 dixie cups, one every 5 min.

My LHBS only has 6lb and 3lb bags of LME. What do I sub to make up for the 0.5lb of LME? I'm thinking 2 cups of DME should do the trick. EDIT: Just weighed the bags, they came in at 9.4 lbs. Am I going to be okay 0.1lb short?

Spoke with a rep from Williams, said they've tried various strains for this kit and the 3787 is the best. Don't care if it's a Belgian Wit or not so long as it's tasty! :mug:

About to start my first brew, Belgian Wit extract kit from Williams. After smacking the activator pack, I noticed it's the Wyeast 3787 Trappist High Gravity. Is this the correct strain? It looks to be more suited towards a dubbel or tripel...
