Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Thanks! I made that change. I guess I'm coming from an Arduino world, which runs at 5V. However, now, with 3V3 and a 2K2 resistor, my temp drops are back full force.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Thanks, I swapped for a 2k2 resistor (at 21:53) and things got better, but still not right. The resistor is on 5V, should it be 3v3 for data still, even though I'm running 5V to the probe?

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

    I'm running 5V with a 4k7 resistor for data.

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

I can see how offended you are. Seriously though, I wanted to have a single pane of glass. I've adjusted those. It just seems like it thinks it's got a powerful heater in there and cuts it off. See my graph here. I seem to be losing connection to my temp sensors. Haven't done much...

Native ESP8266 BrewPi Firmware - WiFi BrewPi, no Arduino needed!

Hello all, I've recently switched to Fermentrack from BrewPi Remix as I'm thinking of setting up a second chamber. In my last (first) ferment with it, I really just needed cooling, but now I'm fermenting with a Kveik and need some heat. The problem lies with the heat duty cycle being too low. If...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Thanks @LBussy! I'm curious, what did you design your case in? Would it be possible to get the source file so I can modify it easily?

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

I just soldered connectors on the ends of the probe cables. I had to do it from updateFirmware.py, it wouldn't complete from the web console. I just switched to the i2c firmware and it took it this time. Odd. Is there an article on wiring up the i2c LCD somewhere, or is it buried in this...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Well, I got it going. I'm not sure what the problem was, but I just kept re-trying things and eventually it recognized it. Soldered it all and it's still showing, so we're good! Now, a couple of questions: I couldn't get the i2c firmware to flash to my Uno, should it have worked? Will I have...

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Looks like I'm working with the new version of Raspbian, though now I can't get my onewire temp sensor to be found. I've tried 2 sensors now and 2 different wiring styles for the pull-up resistor... well, I'm going to keep digging at it!

HOWTO - Make a BrewPi Fermentation Controller For Cheap

Hi Lee, I just thought I'd mention that it seems that your script didn't get Python 3.7 installed. Mine came up with 3.5.2, which was preventing BrewPi.py from running. I tried 2 fresh installs and both did the same thing. Anyway, I'm halfway through a manual install of 3.7 now, hopefully that...

Trying to install on a freshly flashed chip, and I get this error right before gembird support: Any ideas?

    Stuck Fermentation, help!

Thank you! I have been using a refractometer... reading the SG scale, and not correcting for WRI... I guess I have some work in front of me!! I guess the brews I've made thus far are mysteries, but going forward I'll get it right!

    Stuck Fermentation, help!

Hey guys, I've run into another stuck fermentation. Last time it was with a scotch ale using wlp028. I've basically written that brew off now. This time it's with a 2gal batch of Berliner Weisse with belle saison yeast. I rehydrated, then pitched the whole packet into the vessel, and saw...
