What's your favorite type of bottle?

    I like Grolsch bottles.

    Weak Pipeline

I feel your pain. The only thing I have to drink is a rather green pale ale. It's carbed, but it could use another week in the bottle. On deck, I have an imperial stout in secondary and I want to let it sit 2 months. I have 2 batches of Apfelwein and a lager fermenting. All these beers will...

    Flat beer.

As expected. Try 1 bottle every week and you'll get an idea of how your beer will change with time. At 3 weeks, it's ready to drink, but still very young. Often beer will benefit with even more time in the bottle.

Canadians: HBT BJCP Homebrew Contest - Interest?

I wouldn't mind sending something in, but I don't do my own recipes. Does it matter?

    Golden Gate Kegs

What about an MLT?? Can these be converted?

    Golden Gate Kegs

Thanks guys. The previous owner used it them to store and serve wine. There is already a tap on them and a bung in the side hole. I might get it welded up and turn it into a kettle. I'm currently doing 5 gallon batches, but I split the boil between 2 pots. This might make a good kettle until I...

    Golden Gate Kegs

I just came into possession of 2 golden gate kegs. I believe they are 12.8 gallons. Can these be used as keggles? How big of a boil can I do? They have a hole in the side. Do I get this welded or is there another solution?

Mort Subite Framboise Lambic Clone ??

Grain. Thanks. I'll try a wheat beer with raspberries. I had no idea that Lambics were so complex.

Mort Subite Framboise Lambic Clone ??

I think I'll do both. I'll start a raspberry lambic and wait a couple years for it. If I screw it up, oh well, lessons will be learned. In the meantime I'll try a wheat beer with raspberries. Any recipes??

Mort Subite Framboise Lambic Clone ??

I finally found a beer that SWMBO likes. The only beer she'll drink is Mort Subite Framboise. Does anyone have a recipe for a clone of this beer?

DIY Grain Mill - what rollers?

    What about marble rolling pins?

DIY Grain Mill - what rollers?

What qualities do you look for in rollers for a grain mill ?? I'd like to build my own little mill powered by my electric drill, but I'm not sure what I should consider using for rollers. What diameter should they be? While I was at the store the other day, I saw rolling pins on sale for $5...

So should I move it or sell it?

Sell the glass carbuoys. They take up a lot of space and will likely be broken during the move. You can always find them for cheap on craigslist once you're ready to brew at your new place.

Why do I keep making bottle bombs?

I'm not worried about this at all... My beer is never in bottles for 2 months :)

    All Grain equipment

Just a big pot on your stovetop is all you need. I made 2 AG batches like that. It works. It's not very convenient though... I've since converted a cooler to an MLT, and that makes mashing much easier, and the entire process is more enjoyable.

    This is why you're fat.

LOL, ya I agree. Poutine is a rather disgusting dish introduced by Quebec. Still, that small dish of gravy and cheese smothered fries barely looks like an appetizer when compared to some of the artery clogging monster meals in the original link.

I got shut down - no more outdoor brewing

I feel your pain. I used to live in a townhouse and the condo corporation had all sorts of silly rules. To make matters worse, I had some old crazy neighbors who would call in to make complaints about any violation of the silly rules. This might be impractical for you, but you could brew at...

    Worst Shipping Ever

The UPS brokerage fees to get items into Canada are ridiculous. I live near the US border, and if I absolutely have to get something shipped UPS, I get them to deliver it to the UPS Store near the border. It's much cheaper and less hassle for me to drive across the border, pick it up at the UPS...

Electric Brew: George Westinghouse Woulda' Been Proud

Are the heat sticks 120V or 240V ?? Can someone point me to heat stick plans? I'm currently brewing on the stovetop, but I'm trying to decide whether to go natural gas or electric.
