    I will build your IPA/IIPA

I'm hoping you can help me come up with something fun here. I have a freezer full of all kinds of different hops, many of which I haven't used before (sorachi ace, HBC-342, summit, AU topaz, bravo), as well as some classics (Simcoe, centennial, cascade). Waddya got for me?

What is your hop schedule philosophy?

I've just started messing around with FWH, but my schedule is generally a smaller dose of high alpha at boil or FWH for about 50% of my IBU load, then a much larger charge at 10 minutes, then an equal charge at flameout with a steeping period. The exact quantities depend on the heft of beer I'm...

What 3 things have you done since you started brewing, to make better beer?

    1) yeast love. Pitching enough at a reasonable temperature and giving it enough time to do its work. 2) iBrewmaster. 3) BIAB.

    IPA Thoughts

Yeah, I'd say also reduce your crystal by a good bit. A pound seems like a lot to me. Cut it in half maybe? Try drying out the finish by replacing some of the base malt extract with sugar (sucrose), maybe like 8 oz-1 lb. you will definitely need more hops. Try 2 oz at flameout and steep it for...

    What are you drinking now?

A bottle of imperial red ale loosely based on jamil's West Coast Blaster recipe. ::drunk::

    Lagunitas Daytime IPA Clone

I really think this beer is heavy on the Nelson Sauvin/Citra vibe. Very white grape juice flavored to me, which is what the Sauvin seems to be all about.

    My finger is super stinky

    Make a hop poultice!!

    How often do you brew?

I'm too impatient and usually brew every 2 weeks or so, maybe sometimes every week, even if I don't have a plan for the stuff. It's way too much fun.

I want kitchen taps, show me yours!

Have nothing to contribute to this post other than to say good on ya brother and you'll find a perfect spot for that 6-tapper.

Moving to full-volume boils... 8 or 10 gallon kettle?

I upgraded to a 10-gal megapot at the beginning of the summer and love it. Now, I do BIAB, so maybe for a multi-vessel system something else might be better, but I feel like anything bigger and I wouldn't be able to do 2.5 or 3 gallon batches without really messing up my volumes. And I like the...

    Obama on Letterman on Homebrewing!!

You know, I'd be pretty upset if he wasn't authorizing the production of HOMEBREW in the WHITE HOUSE. Politics isn't my forte and IMHO is a total buzz kill but if I just found out my neighbor was homebrewing I'd be really excited. I treat this whole thing the same way.

    What are you drinking now?

Drinking an APA with Galaxy hops out of my first keg(!!)

    Anyone try BRY-97 yet

Drinking a galaxy hopped APA fermented with this strain @68. Cleared out very nicely, definitely an American-style ale yeast. I get a little more mineral/fruity flavor profile than US-05 but it works well with this style. They're definitely different and considering I'm one of the few people who...

What your drink of choice says about you

I laughed in public when I read this. I work at a beer bar where a lot of young people like to meet up for their first Internet date. I've seen enough of them that I know when the dude (and it is always the dude) orders "the hoppiest thing you have", the date doesn't end too well. Invariably...
