I just finished my very first chest freezer conversion. I am very happy with the results and thought I would share some sweet photo action. I am especially happy with the 50dollar freezer score and the 12dollar thermostat replacement.

That's a crazy looking chiller my friend. Bravo! Depending on how my plate chiller works I may end up with a combo of both a CFC an plate. We shall see.

It was a fun build regardless. I will eventually phase it out of the process. I was thinking of retrofitting a ball shaped tea infuser to the end of the tube running from the HLT to break the water flow up just a little. Then just plop the thing on top of the grain bed.

I'm 100%. The wort is gravity fed, and with the BK flow open about 50% I'm getting down to 100F. Close the BK off to 10% flow and I'm down to 90F. Close the BK off to 2% flow and I am at 75F, But it takes an hour to drain at that flow rate. I built the CFC to save time and that is not happening...
