    Inkbird ITC-308 issue

I looked at that one too. How's the app interface?

    Inkbird ITC-308 issue

More like account for the temperature difference but with it not being constant across all temperature ranges I'm thinking it's time to replace it. Looking at the Johnson A419 but it looks like there is a A421 model as well. I'm guessing it's an updated version.

    Inkbird ITC-308 issue

After about a year and a half something strange has begun with my Inkbird ITC-308. It seems that as the set temperature is lowered the probe reading drifts further from the actual temperature. I have a digital thermometer that I calibrated in both ice water and boiling, accounting for elevation...

    SS Brewtech Brew Bucket--First Use

I know this post is a bit old but I'm thinking of trading up to one of these. Also while reading your post I thought maybe a hop spider would be able to hold the funnel in place if you haven't already come up with a solution.

Where did you get your bag?

Appreciate the tip on the prusik hitch, I've never heard of it but at least my old bag doesn't have to waste away now. [emoji106]

Where did you get your bag?

I started out by making a bag myself and just today I received my wilser bag from wilserbrewer in the mail. While my homemade bag works, it didn't fit my kettle too well and had no way of attaching to a pulley. It left me sitting it in a second bucket or sitting in a strainer over the kettle. I...

    Yeastman

Was that through the customer club? I believe it's something like 10 labels before you can redeem your points right?

    Yeastman

That's what I figured. One of these days I'll have to start yeast ranching.

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I know this doesn't address your original question of washing yeast but it may not need to. Have a look over at brewunited.com. Under utilities you'll find a online yeast calculator that will allow you to build a starter bigger than you need for your current batch, brulosophy suggested to...

    Yeastman

My thought was that it may be fresher than through a third party. I've heard of being able to get special strains through the vault but mostly I use WLP001. Cheers Tony

    Yeastman

Wondering if anyone has ever bought liquid yeast direct from White Labs? I see they have a way to do this through Yeastman.com but it looks like it may be for commercial use. Can anyone verify? Cheers Tony

I agree with the less is more idea. It was more of a minor nuisance than something I feel like has to be changed. Like someone posted earlier, it's likely due to the bag being oversized. We all probably need to be saved from some ideas though lol. Most brewers I know just like to tinker with...

Decided to go for it. BIAB Here I come!

am33106. Had to go login to be sure, it's been a bit but I still check-in once in awhile...lol. It would be nice if that forum were more active. If anyone is reading this and hasn't found something they're looking for its worth digging through the forums. They're pretty organized for the most...

I'll second this recommendation, after I figured out all the fields I've never missed my numbers. Cheers Tony

The proper fitting bag is probably a lot of the issue. I had the wife sew the one I currently use and we kind of winged it so it's a bit oversized.

That's pretty much the way I deal with it too. Just thought a loop of copper to match the inside diameter of the pot inside the bag might fix it.
