    noob how to clean bottles

A bucket or a a cooler with Oxyclean works well. So does StarSan. For the inside of the bottle I use a Bottle Jet Washer. Also Oxyclean may leave a residue behind that's easily cleaned with StarSan.

    Aluminum Kettle w/Stainless fitting?

I just found a real nice 40q Alum kettle. Is there any concern for a reaction using weldless fittings? My concern is some sort of galvanic reaction. Thanks!

120 Volt Stovetop Steel 5 gal Electric Brew Kettle with a Bazooka for pellets

Nice build.... The kettle is only 32 quarts? I just bought the same kettle. I only brew 5.5g batches but I like the headroom. Do you think that kettle is big enough? I might be cutting it close with a 90 min boil.

    Re-using Fermenters that held relish?

I have read using buckets that held relish, pickles or BBQ sauce is a no go...but I was told that using Baking Soda and a Star San soak will clean 'em. I have access to a bunch of free 6.5 gallon relish buckets. True or or Not True? Thanks!

    A Cold Mashing...Is this true?

I see now that Steeping and Mashing are different animals. I know he said Steep, I was thinking Mash. I think I must have daydreamed during part of our conversation. This is from The Jovial Monk... Cold steeping Cold steeping is necessary with dark, roasted grains such as chocolate malt, black...

    A Cold Mashing...Is this true?

Just met a guy at a hardware store. Seemed like a knowledgeable guy and he new enough that I was buying BIAB equipment when I was at the checkout line with 5 gallon paint strainer bags and a new 7.5 gallon kettle. He mentioned that he "Cold Steeps" his grains in a 5 gallon cylindrical cooler...

    First all grain for me...

I thought lower mash temps improved efficiency? My next brew I was going to mash at 147 for an hour and spare at 170.

    Grolsch bottles

I got a bunch of nasty, real nasty... Grolsch bottles from a guy who made homemade rum. I filled up my bottling bucket with Oxyclean and warm H2O and filled the bottles up and had em sit a few days. Then I put them in the diswasher on sanitize cycle with star san. They came out crystal clear...

    stove top boil pots

If your new to brewing and limited to a stovetop...I suggest that you start off walking before you run. Try a few extract brews or a Partial before you do a All Grain brew. You need to make a few mistakes first and refine a few practices IMO. Your pot is fine for a 3-3.5 gallon brew. I would go...

Think I pitched all starter without any yeast!

Im by far a starter expert but....aren't airlocks supposed to be avoided so that oxygen can interact with the yeast?
