    Modding the kab4 or 6

Hello, Seems like everyone is going to have to make some type of modification to the KAB 4 or 6. Some it will be the height of the burner (4.25"). Some it will be the size of the cooking surface. Yet others will have both problems. So im going to try and fix what I can and shed some light...

    Kab4 stand Modificaation

2 things: 1~ I moved it all the way up and it may be a little too close, I may drop it < inch. Don't want to scorch the wort 2~ The surface you place it on and the true-ness of the keg bottom can cause a slight wobble. My keg was straight but I needed to drop one leg maybe 1/16" to...

    Chilling wort in hot weather.

Based on the herms system im building: with two pumps After the boil I will use ground water with a CF. Here in jersey with the recent heat wave ground water is 87*. Then pump back thru the herms coil with the keg now full of ice water.

If you got the money for toys. Get yourself a glycol system. If you got a lot for toys. Get me one too.... see a few DIY systems. I may move to NC and it will be a requirement there Almost like AZ.. as a matter of fact even in jersey id like one

Home Made Glycol Chiller from A/C unit

Just a thought! Instead of the pumps and dealing with the rust ruining pumps. Would using a small motor with a stirring shaft connected to it circulate the glycol enough to keep it from freezing. Though the coil would still need to be painted or eventually it will rust away!

    Plasma Cutter ~ Cutting Kegs

Thanks for all the quick informative replies... Had no choice but to build a small jig and use the angle grinder... Tired of Waiting!!! I cut the tube from the sanke insert and ground off the locking nubs so I could use that as the center for my jig. I attached that to a piece of 1"x2"...
