    Smells like egg!!!!

It will be fine. Sulfur totally does happen. I have never (in 14 years) had a batch where it didn't go away.

No foam after 3 weeks in bottle

Another factor to consider is rinse aid (from the dishwasher)on your glassware. Makes a big difference in head retention. Try pre-rinsing your glass before pouring.

No distilled water available & I want to brew

I brewed tasty beers for 13 years without doing anything to my water. Go ahead and brew. The water chemistry makes it better, but not that much, IMO.

Belgian Dark Strong Ale Westvleteren 12 Clone - Multiple Award Winner

Have brewed many times. Here's my oops from the most recent iteration. Came home from work to find an unexpected experiment in open fermentation.

    Anyone used blackberries?

This is the recipe: https://www.homebrewersassociation.org/homebrew-recipe/fall-cranberry-saison/ Basically 2lb of cranberries in a 5gal mash. Just enough to get some flavor. It's really a very tasty recipe; my go to for a fall/winter saison (I always have one on tap).

    guidance needed for smoker recommendations

Bought a Little Chief on Letgo for $30. For that price + remote thermometer, it does everything I need. Definitely easy-bake.

    Anyone used blackberries?

I wanted to add an alternative: berries in the mash. I started doing this with cranberry saison recipe from AHS. Low mess, easy, well-integrated flavor.

Grain miller, how important is it?

After you get the cereal killer dialed in, look into conditioning your grain. Those two steps will yield solid, replicable results.

    Other hobbies ?

Ha! I actually can't stand mtb-wear. I always catch baggy shorts on the nose of the saddle when I least expect it. I wear the spandex for everything.

    Other hobbies ?

Bikes! Riding, but more importantly, building and maintaining. I commute by bike 18 miles a day, ride 6 days out of 7 generally. Then I can drink more.

    Early sprouts.

I think it all depends on how usable you want the flowers to be. My hops are planted at my foundation, grow up to the roof of my porch, and their main function is shade for the porch. I pick them all at the end of the summer and make one garbage pail ale out of them. AA presence is dicey, so...

    Help cleaning a carboy...

Might step up the cleaning power to PBW. In hot water, full carboy soak.

    Early sprouts.

Hops are hardy AF. You do not need to worry about them. In fact, you mostly need to worry about how to keep them from taking over the world if they're in the ground (which it sounds like yours aren't). If you need to, I am sure you could cut all of the current bines off and they would still...

Poll of your views on Daylight savings time - changes.

Bike commuter here - I appreciate the early morning light Dec to Feb. I'd be riding in the dark otherwise.

    Couple of noob questions

I had no idea people added extract at the end! Why boil, then? Just use hop shot and compress your boil to 15 minutes!

    Group buy New England ?

Homebrew Emporium does a discount bulk grain buy a couple times a year. Price is comparable to what I was paying through a group buy before that. Should be happening soon.

    Cereal Killer Grain Mill

Not the OP, but once you pull the original bearings, you can read the size / style and google. It's usually written on the seal. These are a 2rs style sealed bearing (double rubber seal), at least when I replaced mine.

    Correct bottle conditioning

Ha! Leave some for later or you'll kick yourself in 4 months when it tastes best.

    Correct bottle conditioning

Let it sit for as long as you can wait. At least 2 weeks at 70°, longer if cooler. A cup is a lot of sugar, unless it's a 10 gallon batch.
