Actually.... Now that I'm thinking... Its the Pi3B

    Fermentation chamber control panel

Using the onboard sensors. I read that 80c is the threshold of getting critical. Im sure I'll be fine in the enclosire while running the brewpi

    Fermentation chamber control panel

Ran the panel for a while and CPU only got to 35.5C. For comparison, I unhooked the CPU fan and the temp hit 54.6C. All this while just running the web browser between pages. The SSRs havent been on yet since I've built it, so that'll be the real temp test

2nd Brew Way Off Target Gravity

If I use RO water, i just need to add adjuncts to the mash water? Not the sparge?

2nd Brew Way Off Target Gravity

1 quick question... When adding water additions, would i add the full amount to the mash water, or split them between the mash water and sparge water?

    Fermentation chamber control panel

Sure is. I'll run the panel for a while to see the temp inside the enclosure as I've got a one wire temp probe in the enclosure to monitor things.

    Fermentation chamber control panel

Wanted to share my panel build for my brewpi powered chamber. Everything plugs into their own plugs/outlets for ease of moving or changing if need be. I just need to install a Wi-Fi antenna as the raspberry pi doesnt get the signal in the enclosure. Don't mind the messy wiring... I put it...

2nd Brew Way Off Target Gravity

So from what I've gathered to resolve this issue next brew day would be to double mill the grains, use my refractometer or cool down a sample for the hydrometer, and sparge. For sparging either heat all the water I need, or reserve a couple gallons (2?) for sparging. When the mash is over...

2nd Brew Way Off Target Gravity

So I'd need a second burner to heat the sparge water? If my batch was 7.5 total water, why start with 8.5? Im not following completely...

2nd Brew Way Off Target Gravity

That's pretty much what my grains looked like.... They have it set at what its set. Ill run it through a second time next brew session. I really appreaciate the help.

2nd Brew Way Off Target Gravity

I've got a refractometer, just forgot about it. Ill use it for sure next time. Assuming I was low on post mash, do you know anything I can do to ensure i get to my target next time? I thought it was odd reading my thermowell thermometer the temp only dropped 2 degrees during mashing. I didnt...

2nd Brew Way Off Target Gravity

How do I sparge with BIAB? Is there anything else I can do to get more goods from the grain? Because if this issue keeps happening, ill be real good at making all day beers.. Not exactly what I was going for....

2nd Brew Way Off Target Gravity

No water added after the boil. I milled the grain at the store. I will double mill it next time. Will a refractometer do better with hot wort?

2nd Brew Way Off Target Gravity

With a hydrometer. I used 2 different calculator programs that correct the gravity depending on the temperature. The post boil gravity is way too low for the recipe.

2nd Brew Way Off Target Gravity

I finished my second BIAB and I'm at a loss... My estimated post mash gravity was 1.044. I stirred very well, measured the temp, and used a correction calculator and got 1.040. Ok, thats fine with me I think. My estimated post boil gravity is 1.057. I go though the boil, chill it, transfer to...

Screwed up my boil off or something?

I had 15 lbs of grain, 8.65 gallons of water pre mash, I'm not too sure the volume I had post mash, but ended up with 6 in the fermenter. I drained the bag for 20 minutes, and squeezed it as well. I then added that wort to the boil.

Screwed up my boil off or something?

I dont think I stirred it before measuring post-mash... I figured pulling the bag out mixed it up enough. Ill be sure to stir well before measuring next time.
