what gravity to bottle brett saison

Thats what I was thinking. I kind of want to prime with the malto dextrine that way only the brett is working in the bottle. This is where my problem lies because i do not know how much co2 is created by brett when eating malto dextrine so do I prime as normal like say 3/4 of a cup of malto and...

what gravity to bottle brett saison

So im wondering when I should bottle a saison I brewed. The primary yeast was 3711 and that got it down to 1.010 then I pitched in a 1.5 liter starter of brett b which now has the beer down to 1.002 and tasting amazing (kinda like peaches). My question is when do I bottle and not have worry...

    Imperial IPA

I used 28 lbs of two row for a 5 gallon batch of a barley wine and the used the second runnings for a 10 gallon batch of an esb and the esb came out phenomenal. So i would say if your going to do a partigyle you need to do 5 gallon first runnings beer and a 10 gallon second runnings beer and...

advice on when to pitch brett b for saison

Right I see where you are coming from but in that episode jamil wasnt planning on pitching brettanomyces. He was mashing low so the saccromyces could handle the job and dry out the beer. I mashed high to create long chain sugars that the saccromyces cannot handle but the brettanomyces can that...

advice on when to pitch brett b for saison

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I am planning on mashing at 156. Do you think this will be enough food for the brett and I am going for a farely pronounced brett presence.

advice on when to pitch brett b for saison

Ok, so I am wondering when I should pitch the brett. I have never used wyeast 3711 before but from what I have heard from other people is that it will bring my fg to about 1.003. If it does actually do that I am concerned that the brett will have nothing to eat when I pitch and therefore will...

Can you Brew It recipe for Stone Arrogant Bastard

I upped the special b to 15% and made all the hop additions a full ounce. This saturday im racking onto 2 ounces of oak chips for a week and then I am bottling it. From what I can see from my hydro sample I nailed the color in a side by side with the special b at 15% so that could be the number...

1st AG batch - very little debris in first runoff?

Yeah I forget sometimes too but I actually replace my braid about every ten brews because they tend to get stretched out and start letting stuff through and its not very expensive to do so why not.

1st AG batch - very little debris in first runoff?

Congrats on the first AG batch. Im pretty sure people like the ss baid so much, including myself, because it is easy to implement and easy to replace every once in a while. I doubt you were doing anything wrong from it sounds you were doing everything right. I just take a pitcher and open the...

    IBUs without boiling??

Well I lost my sense of smell in an accident 6 years ago and I can still taste impecably well and actually excel in picking up off flavors in my and other people's beer. The doctor's explanation was that when you temporarily lose your sense of smell food will taste flavorless like when your...
