    Refilling a 5 pound CO2 tank

The local grow store here in MA started doing 5# swaps(aluminum only, they will send steel ones for refill) for $11/tank. They also swap 20's for $25. Cheaper and closer than airgas or other "local" gas places.

New fermentation chamber is too small. Should I replace it or keep it?

Another option would be to get some sort of wire grate that will support them, span it over the top of the hump and something on the other side to support it. Added benefit is that you do not have to lower them as far or lift from as far down. Or just return it and get something bigger..

    Craftbeer pi extension board

I'm using CraftbeerPi and the Terragady 3.1 board for the Raspberry pi 0. Runs just fine. I'm using one for brewing and one for controlling a fermenting fridge. I would second Zippy in the sentiment that HATs make it easier to use and/or swap PI's, may of them are also powered to provide the...

    Economical Brewing

hehe.. yeah, I grow my own hops too.. problem is, after paying the neighborhood teen to harvest them(cause it sucks) I and up paying ~$40 for ~4-5lbs of cascade(3lb), saaz,, and some wilammette, and sorachi.. the "savings" mean me itchy for 3 days. and storing 4+ lbs of dried whole cone hops...

    Want to upgrade. Need help.

I do not have an AIO system, so I'm not qualified to speak on that part. I don't know what you will find in the ~$500 range though as they all seem more expensive especially at the 10G level. I did move from outdoor propane to indoor setup, and I can offer some things that have changed. I...

Let kegs dry after cleaning and sanitizing?

This is roughly my routine as well. I have ~35 kegs at this point, most of them are still 21l sankey kegs. I tend to do a big clean every 9-12 months, so sometimes kegs sit for a while, and I have never had mold problems. I don't know what long term is though.

Let kegs dry after cleaning and sanitizing?

Looks like OP was asking about long-term storage. I don't think a little star-san would hurt, but I would store right-side up to prevent it from remaining on the caskets the whole time. and I might make sure the pressure is left low.

    Square Keg?

The big question I have is, When you use the square kegs, can you still use round glasses or do you have to buy the matching square glasses?

    Sugar question, again.

Are you sure the 3/4 lb corn sugar wasn't for bottling? I use beet sugar in some of my belgian style recipes, but typically recipes call for the corn sugar to be added just before bottling so that the yeast has something to carbonate with. powdered corn sugar tends to dissolve easier than...

Using fermentation pressure to purge keg

I would fill one keg with starsan(all the way), use fermentation to gas in on the keg, use liquid out to another keg's liquid out post. and put a spunding valve on the gas in post of the second set enough to let gas out. Wait for all the liquid to be in keg 2, then swap keg 2 into keg 1's place...

Do You Have a Go-To Yeast Brand?

I've been super happy with the Mangrove Jacks stuff as well, always a good quick start, and a decent variety. I really enjoy their M41 and M47 for belgian styles, makes some great beer.
