    BIAB vs 3 vessel setups

I agree.. The dedicated space alone saves me a significant amount of time carting equipment from basement to garage and back. Space and finances have not always allowed me to have this, but man, it's nice. There's also a habit part.. There were not AIO systems when I started brewing, and I've...

    BIAB vs 3 vessel setups

To be fair, My HLT is only used for heating water. I use it to collect hot water at the end from the chiller, but that is still clean water that I then use for cleaning. And while the mash tun has to be cleaned, it's a quick rinse to get all the sugars out. I did just switch to a new bottom...

Calculate weight of beer per gallon

Also, if you are force carbing, leaving a little room to maximize surface area will result in a quicker carbonation. This helps to get to drinking the beer a little quicker.

Thank you for being an HBT sponsor. It is appreciated. This seems a little small for my needs, but if you need someone to test drive one and write a review (here?) for you, please feel free to get in touch. It seems like it might be a lot of fun.

About to can some wort for starters and I had a thought...

Bear with me.. My normal process is to do 1/2 pint and 1 quart jars of ~1.03 wort with some yeast nutrient. I'm not asking about this part, it has worked well for me for a few years now I will (over)build a starter, and put ~8ml of healthy yeast slurry with ~2ml glycerin into the freezer on...

    Day 4 advice

I'm not 100% certain, but every time I've dry hopped, it's a t- situation.. so if I do a 3 day(day 3?) dry hop, I try to dry hop 3 days before packaging. That said, I'm really more about the belgian/german styles and don't do much dry hopping. (I live 10 mins from Treehouse, so am a little...

    Day 4 advice

It also depends on what style of beer you like.. Are you going for hazy NEIPA? dry hop early for that biotransformation.. Looking for a cleaner west-coast style? dry hop later and retain some of the clarity..

Need help identifying this piece of gear

Looks like fun to play with. I think Day_trippr is right on the money.. and pics of the board, how many wires etc..? might help to identify and/or determine communication protocol and how you might use them.
