converting a keg to a lid??

https://sanitaryfittings.us/2-tri-clamp-fittings has a great bit about sizing of TC fittings. I agree that if you anticipate pressure(or it could happen spontaneously) you should have a prv. You could get a lid with a hole in it(or drill your own) and use a stopper, or they have lids with...

Best breweries around Springfield, MA (besides Treehouse)

Berkshire brewing is "right around the corner" from Treehouse, and there is a decent BBQ place right there too. A little ways north is Brick and Feather who do a great job in Turners Falls. I like Progression in Northampton, Honest weight is a bit of a drive in Orange. There are also some decent...

converting a keg to a lid??

https://www.brewhardware.com/product_p/tc2bc.htm They are 2" tri-clamp blanks. Get that with a 2" tri-clamp and a seal that is flat one one side and grooved on the other. You can easily create a "lid" for sanke kegs. The 2" iirc is for the ID of the pipe.

    Frozen yeast bank procedure

Honestly, I don't know. My wife is the one with all the canning skills, I just fill the jars and fit the lids.. I'll ask her though.

    Frozen yeast bank procedure

About once a year I brew a batch of "wort" with some added nutrients and no hops. I then pressure can in ball jars in a couple of sizes to make starting and stepping up yeast easy. That way I don't need freezer space. If doing it this way, I suggest boiling the wort to get protein break before...

    Fall Corny Keg Giveaway

Awesome, Thanks for doing these giveaways. I normally do 11-12g batches, but sometimes go up to 15 on lighter beers. It would be great to only clean 1 keg :)

    Portable Glass Rinser

I suppose it's all in what you are trying to do.. My club does 5-8 beer festivals a year, Those of us that man the club table tend to be more conservative(?) brewers brewing to styles that can get ruined by the smoothie sours, peanut butter and habanero stouts and the like. For us, having...

    Portable Glass Rinser

Great job, I built one similar to this, ended up going 12v pump run off a "drill" battery. It worked pretty well, benefit was easily refilling the reservoir as it was not pressurized, downside was some extra stuff and not being able to really dial up the pressure. I'll have to find some...

heading to italy . what should i drink.

Not sure where in Italy, but one of my favorites (if you like sour reds..) is Panil Barrique(SP?) Only have had it imported in 750ml bottles, but it was always amazing..

    Thoughts on low efficiency.

Timely... I too recently added a B to my Brew in a Three Vessel System (BTVS(B))? My efficiency went through the floor. I'm milling finer. I have a bag in my bottom drain mash tun(with a false bottom). I added recirc through the mash process(little to no effect). I'm stirring at 15, 30, 45, and...

    Why aren't Tripels more popular?

Ok, Thanks for putting many "co-fermantation" brews ahead of me... I'm sure my wife's eyes are rolling while I thank you.. As an "experienced drinker", I am often asked "What's your favorite style". My gut reaction is "Gueze", but I tend to step back and respond with "Anything that is well...
