    Good Hard lemonade

Things seem to be taking a turn for the worse. After the reading of 1.070 last Tuesday, I took another reading on Friday. Unfortunately it hadn't budged from 1.070. It was a lot fizzier, however. I let it go and took another one today (3 days later) and it had only moved the smallest amount...

How many gallons of EdWort's Apfelwein have been made?

Man, I need to catch up. I just finished my third 5 gallon batch and haven't posted in this thread. So that brings us to 1,099. :)

    Good Hard lemonade

Thanks for the advice. I took a reading last night (as I was brewing and had everything sanitized anyway I figured what the hell,) which was 3 days, and had a reading of 1.070. The OG was 1.076, so it's fermenting, albeit a little slowly. I'll take another one tomorrow (day 5) just to make sure...

    Summer Blonde Recipe

Yeah, they have coopers extra light DME. They also have a golden LME, which would you go with? Should I change the hops? Cut down on the crystal? I'll probably go with liquid yeast this time.

    Summer Blonde Recipe

That helps a lot. Below is my absolute favorite brew, which happens to be an APA. What would I tweak to make it more of a 'blonde ale'? 6.6 Pounds Light LME 12 oz Crystal Malt 1.5 Oz Northern Brewers Hops (bittering) 1.5 Oz Willamette Hops (finishing) Nottingham Brewing Yeast

    Summer Blonde Recipe

Anyone else got any ideas for a nice, simple Blonde? My local brewpub did a Summer Blonde last summer that they aren't going to repeat this year and I'm really looking to try and recreate it. Any help is appreciated!

    Good Hard lemonade

Alright guys, question about your experiences making this. I just made my first batch of Hard Lemonade Saturday. I used Minute Maid and added 2.5 pounds of corn sugar (no malt.) I prepared a starter like many on the boards recommended: Champagne Yeast, Water, Sugar & Yeast Nutrient. Once it was...

    Let's talk high quality H two O

Shamefully, I live in Vernon and have never heard of them! Are they a full brewery? Brewpub? Where can I get the water, or, for that matter, their beer? :)

    Summer Blonde Recipe

Thanks for the suggestion. You aren't too far from my hometown of Clifton Park. Anyways, looks good. Also looks like a nice simple base that you could add a little bit of fruit too for a nice SWMBO beer. I'll try it out!

    2 days, still no activity.

Yay, after 60 hours finally we've got bubbles on the surface and a little airlock activity. Not a lot, but a hell of a lot more than the dead stillness we had before. I'm sure it will be fermenting away heavily in no time. Thanks guys!

    2 days, still no activity.

Hey guys, Making a Honey Kolsch using Wyeast American Wheat yeast. When brewing I noticed the bag didn't seem to be inflating as normal, so I waited an hour or so with the wort in the carboy before adding the yeast. Even when I added it it still hadn't seemed to inflate much more, but I...

    Man, I love Apfelwein

Hey guys, Made my first batch, fermented for about 5 weeks and just bottled it last Tuesday, priming with 3/4 cup of priming sugar. So it's been in bottles for about 9 days, cracked one open and there is only a hint of carbonation. I've heard to wait 3 weeks (unrealistic, come on guys this is...

    Growlers

Great, thanks for the input! I'd ideally like to do a little of both, turning a batch into about 24 bottles and 5 growlers. Makes bottling a lot easier and is the best of both worlds. I think I'll see if my LHBS has some of the heavy duty growler caps, can't hurt.

    Growlers

Hey guys, I've got some 64 oz twist top growlers from a local microbrewery and I was wondering if there are any tricks to bottling in them. Are the twist off's ok? Let me know. Thanks.

What Should I Brew This Weekend?

Alright guys, spring is here. I'm finishing off my Honey Chocolate Porter and my Rasberry Stout is in the secondary. Just bottled an APA, and I'm looking to make something else this weekend that is light, easy to drink and good for spring. Any suggestions?

    When to bottle?

What should the FG of Edworts end up at?

    When to bottle?

Hey guys, Alright, been almost 4 weeks. There are still very small amounts of champagne bubbles coming up the sides, the hydrometer is bubbling once every 12-15 seconds. The cider is about clear, almost all of the yeast has dropped to the bottom. Still wondering if it's safe to bottle it yet...

    When to bottle?

Hey guys: Made a batch of Edworts Apfelwein (same recipe except with Champagne yeast) and it's been fermenting at about 70-72 degrees for about 3 weeks. Yeast has dropped out and it has lost quite a bit of it's cloudiness, the airlock has stopped bubbling and there are only a tiny amount of...
