    Am I a beer snob?

My folks own a brewpub, and I can tell you with confidence, a clean cold glass is served with every beer that comes in a bottle or a can, they let the customer decide whether or not they want the glass.

Beer Filters, Do you use one?

Yeah I myself have never used one, I was just surfing the AustinHombrew website and came across this. I wondered how many people actually use these. I cloned a Red Ale that is actually brewed by Ice Harbor in WA, it is fantastic but I have historically had a problem with chill haze. What I...

    Foaming Problem with Kegerator

My hose is quite short, (the one in the kegorator anyway) and what I do is I turn the valve off and relieve most of the pressure off the keg prior to pouring my beer. As a matter of fact I will leave the valve off for days. The beers fill slow, but a perfect foam head every time.

    Almost certainly an infection

Time to bleach bomb your equipment. Large concentration of bleach in water and let it sit for atleast 24hours. Still sanitize normally after that. I have had good success with this method.

Microbrewery set up....must be rich ;)

Why don't we all go in together and start up a HBT Brewery, then we could sell our beer right here, and ship it all over the world, huh, whatya think?

    holy crap!

IPA's for the most part, meh, (Not high on my list) with that said the Ninkasi Total Domination is very well balanced and I really enjoy that one. I just tried Widmer Bros, Broken Halo IPA, I can have one of these about once a month or so. Ninkasi brews are some of the best I have ever had IMO.:mug:

    Non-Glass solution for Bottled beer...

I use and love the Mr Beer PET bottles, they seal well and work like a charm. I have stashed away about 60 of them.

    Brew Day 10-11-2009 - Let's Roll

Sweet, I like your set up. I just brewed a 10gallon batch yesterday of Pale Ale, four different infusions of cascade7.0. I tried the wort in the cylinder for the hydrometer, and I think it is going to be pretty good. It reminds me of Deschutes Mirror Pond. What are you brewing today?

How long can can beer stay in the primary fermenter?

I would say after a year, you probably have some autolysis of the yeast going on, this can impart some foul flavors. See Link below: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Autolysis_(biology)

What Sanitisers and Cleaners are used.

I use iodophore to sanitize. I use bleach to "clean". If your equipment does not dry out properly you can get mold growing in small hard to find places. Because of this I initially clean with a bleach soak, rinse well then sanitize using Iodophore, plus I can use the iodophore as a starch reagent.

    Brewing in Southern Oregon

No LHBS in Ashland that I know of. I do know they just opened one in KFalls.

    Another Possible Infection Question? (pics)

Good observations, I was talking to a brewing buddy on Sunday, and he said he watched a history channel documentary that was about the Journey overseas to the new land. I thought it quite interesting that the beverage of choice for all crews was BEER. As a matter of fact they ran out a couple of...

    Brewing in Southern Oregon

Howdy and welcome, I am brewing here in Medford myself. The LHBS you speak of must be Bob's store. (Grains Beans and Things?) He is great and he will really help you out. I do all-grain 10 gallon batches and it definitely takes more than one guy to pull it off. You should join the local...

40 gallon SS steam jacket kettle South Puget Sound area

If you don't sell it to Wred please let me know, I can easily make a trip to Puyallup. I would bring some muscle with me. This is a decent deal, but of course we would like to view it in person. Thanks Craig

3rd Place at BJCP sanctioned event..

Ok here's the recipe: I have made some changes, this could have been more true to the style had I not used so much American ingredients, but this was a really good beer none the less. This is the original recipe UNCHANGED. A refreshing Copper Brown ale brewed with coriander, and...

3rd Place at BJCP sanctioned event..

I brewed a brown ale, english style, aged in french oak, and decided to enter it in the local Harvest Fair competition. There were 142 total entries and I entered in the Mild English Brown Ale category. The beer turned out to be more of a copper color but still qualified according to the style...
