Here's my setup..... Got the idea from a few folks on here.... This is a pic of my False Bottom, pick up tube, and a guard I made to protect thermometer. This one is of the Loc-Line arm returning the wort back into the Mash. And this is what it looks like after I completely drain the Mash Tun.

I've been washing my yeast for about 5 batches now. Then making 1.5 litre starter about 24 hours before I brew. Majority of my beers are in the 1.060-1.075 range. Using oxygen for 1 minute, then shaking 6.5 carboy for a minute. I make 5.5 gallon batches. My last 4 ferments NEED a blow off...

I also use Us-05. I've seen that on some of my batches. I too was worried, but turned out fine. Probably just hop/leftover krasen that hasn't dropped. No need to worry! =)

I agree. If it was $36 for just the air stone, not with a sterile Filter and aquarium pump you paid too much. I but just an air stone from a local homebrew shop for $12.50. I then ordered from Williams a disposable oxygen regulator for $19.99. Don't know why I waited SO long to buy this setup...

what's the DIA of inside the pot?

I recently bought a few of these, SS 1/2" Male Thread x 1/2" barb OD cheap off of ebay. screwed into type 'D' camloks. Took a little time but got them to stretch on. Haven't had any trouble with kinking, either.

here's my pick-up tube. and a "guard" i made to protect the thermometer probe.

Finally added the thermometer. Slowly converting all pieces to stainless........ next up, ball valve.

LOVE this warm weather we're having in Michigan! Here's a pic of my Magnum Plant. Noticed it this morning. Was worried the freezing Cold killed these as I was too lazy to move this and my other planter in my basement this past winter.

Just wanted to say "thanks" for the great product! The 15" False bottom is amazing. I previously used a 12" domed false bottom with less than good results. Very hard to re-circulate (if at all) almost always got a stuck mash/sparge. No matter what I did to fix this worked. i.e. higher...

Not sure if this has been done before, but found these extra numbered stickers at my parents house. The kind you get for putting name/ address on mailbox, etc. Figured these were somewhat weather proof, and thought about using them on my carboys. Used letter " I " for the level maker, and...

I made a few of these using my mom's sewing machine (after I figured out how to use it) Works well, and ended up being a Little cheaper than the Brew Hauler. Plus it gave me a project to do. Love making stuff.

For what it's worth, I had to "shave" the shelf tabs down to fit 2 ball locks in mine....

Yeah, dried my hands out real bad too. Bout the yellow latex gloves from the dollar store to wash beer equipment/bottles etc now when using oxyclean.
