    First All-grain reccomendations

+1 for Yooper's Oatmeal stout. Makes a very delicious beer. I also like EdWort's Bavarian Hefeweizen. It's a simple but delicious recipe.

    Hi ABV Stout fermentation

1.013 FG for an imperial stout would be pretty dry. 1.022 is probably more ideal for the style.

Switched my company over to Wyeast. Input needed

I'm a huge fan of most of the English ale strains they have, particularly 1318 London III, 1968 ESB, and 1099 Whitbread Ale all make great beers. Some other favorites that have already been mentioned, but I'll reinforce are: 1056 American Ale 3068 Weihenstephan 1332 NW Ale 1335 British Ale II...

What I did for beer today

Brewed a DIPA for my sister's golden birthday. Used a ton of Simcoe, Columbus, and Centennial. Efficiency wasn't so great, but it will still be about 7-8% when it's all finished.

A beer style that introduced you to craft beer, and now you can't stand?

Spotted Cow. First time I drank it, I thought it was delicious, now I only drink it when I'm at a Milwaukee dive bar and the only other beer is Miller Lite.

    Least favorite thing about Homebrewing?

Funny things you've overheard about beer

One of my friends compares every dark beer to Guinness. "It's like a heavier version of Guinness." "It's a sweeter version of Guinness." "It's a more bitter version of Guinness." It drives me crazy.

London Ale III Yeast pitched at high temp

In the summer, I have a lot of issues chilling my wort, so what I do now, even in the winter, is chill the wort to the 90's, seal it in the fermenter, and then pitch the yeast in 24 hours or when it's cooled to a pitchable temp. I've been doing it for the last six or seven months and haven't had...

    How does everyone keep up?

Typically, I brew twice a month, all 5 gallon batches, so I have a steady supply of a variety of home brews. I don't really drink too much, maybe 6-10 beers a week, but I bring a case or two over to my buddy's house and his roommates and him drink it in a week. Then I get the bottles back and...
