Looks like infection. Can anyone help

That looks like what happened in spring with the dry Irish stout I made. All of a sudden it got hot outside and I lived in a 3rd floor apartment so it fermented pretty warm. That was 4 months ago and the stouts still taste good. I wouldn't worry about it.

1st AG -- Comedy of Errors...but nailed it???

I remember my first AG day. It was a disaster and my efficiency was something like 66%. I didn't close the valve on my mash tun and leaked out about a quart of hot wort on my floor. Now brew days are so routine, I can dial in my beer exactly. You'll get there man, it just takes practice and some...

What size batches do you brew?

Still doing 5 gallon batches. I can't drink enough beer or give enough of it away fast enough to justify doing 10 gallons batches. Maybe one day.

    Visiting Columbus, OH

Zauber brewery has good German style beers, Seventh Son has a lot of great hoppy beers, but also a good American stout. Wolf Ridge Brewery has a nice new tap room and they have a lot of good beers with a good variety. Four String is a pretty decent brewery, but Friday and Saturday they have...

How can I save money on brew day?

Hops by the pound and reusing yeast have saved me so much money. Get a water report and use tap water. Make it work for you with salt additions. You might find that your water could add some unique flavor to your beer.

    First time dry hopping

I did a DIPA with 2 dry hop additions for 7 days each. Racked off the first dry hops into another fermenter with more dry hops. Turned out awesome. I think 10-14 days would be way too long.

    Worst. IPA. Ever.

I had a double IPA at The Great Dane in Wausau, WI. It was just bitter. No hop flavor or aroma, just bitter. I was severely disappointed because some of their other beers are great, specifically Crop Circle Wheat. I honestly don't remember what the worst IPA I had was. I think I repress bad beers.

Worst Commercial Beer You've Ever Had?

Leinenkugel's Original. It was horrible when I was 20 and it's horrible now. My least favorite commercial craft beer was called a little crazy by Revolution, a good brewery. It had an aftertaste of grape robutussin.
