Why is my beer getting sour after a few weeks in the bottle?

I'm sort of hijacking this thread as I have the same issue. Break down on cleaning; I wash all my stuff in dish soap and water, then towel dry it. I take the little filter off the end of my auto siphon and take the inner tube out. I take the tubing off the siphon and wash everything apart...

    it still tastes bad

I don't know what FV means, nor what gushers are. I've stored some beer for about a year and it still is fine. A batch starts bad, turns bad in 3 weeks, or is fine for a long time.

    it still tastes bad

its possibly like a rusty flavor. Its still an issued 4 or 5 batches later. I brew a very good hoppy pale ale with a good aroma and drink a few for the first three weeks and then all of a sudden this crappy flat almost astringent taste shows up in all bottles. I didn't reply months ago as I had...

    it still tastes bad

I have had some air in the syphon hose, not much splashing.

    it still tastes bad

I've used several recepies. Why would that matter? Why would it be good for 20 days then go bad depending on the ingredients? I do not have water report but have used several different waters including rain water. This last batch was 2 gal. rain water, one gal distilled and two gals Kirkland...

    it still tastes bad

What exactly is your process for bottling?? I mover the wort pale to a counter about 3' high. I use a siphon to get the wart to a transfer bucket on the floor. I then put transfer bucket on the counter, and fill bottles on the floor using the siphon. I cap the bottles. To sanitize I fill...

    it still tastes bad

Bottles are very clean, cleaned with dish washing soap and water. If it was dirty bottles, why good beer in dirty bottles for 3 weeks, then ALL the rest are bad, at least a few should have been clean.

    it still tastes bad

as far as I can tell, I sanatize well. If not, why could it be good in bottles for 3 weeks and then go bad. Why would ALL bottles be bad and not just some?

Why is my beer getting sour after a few weeks in the bottle?

This is the situation. I've now been through this 4 or 5 times. I brew a batch and all goes well. I sample it at bottling and it tastes great, warm, flat but god taste and aroma. This time was a pale ale with mostly Cascade hops. A week in the bottle its got a great head, good carbonation and...

    IPA Hops...Best/Worst???

[ I love cascade, I grow it in my back yard, its up to you, and its really hard to make a muddy mess. I'm a Cascade fan as well, Mirror Pond is one of my favorite beers. If you see someone sneaking around the garden, please don't shot or send the dogs, I don't want to get hurt.

    weird fermentation

I've got a batch with US-5 fermenting. It started to percolating after about 20 hours and is still thumping now and then on day 18. I've never seen it go this long, usually 3 to 5 days is what I would expect. Any issues?

    IPA Hops...Best/Worst???

That actually looks pretty good! I personally, don't like mixing my bittering and flavor hops, but give it a shot! Hell, I might try this as its something I don't normally do. I'm a huge fan of the cascade taste and the chinook bittering which is why I keep them separated. I suspect it...

    IPA Hops...Best/Worst???

I plugged your numbers into Beersmith and ~50 IBU I personally, would go 1/1/1/1 across the board, I don't know if you will get the full hop punch in the face with those numbers. I use the 1/.5/.5/1 for my APA and I shoot around 1.055 with that. What is your recipe? Are you aiming for...
