    anyone use steam to sanitize?

    I would think that wouldn't be a high enough temprature to truely steam sanatize unless its a commercial grade.

    There was no call for a secondary on it which I thought was strange since but then again this is my first time brewing.

    So my first batch is in the carboy I put it in on Saturday and I followed the formula exact but the sheet says allow to ferment 7-10 days. So would I be best to split the middle or wait it out the 10 days?

    So I'm brewing my first batch its Thomas Coopers Irish stout extract kit. Once I had it all mixed together I sealed it up the next morning I had some fermentation and bubbling. This went on for 24hrs even getting very active at times but then I woke up this morning to nothing no bubbles at all...

    well I woke up to the bubbles of fermentation so at least I know I'm kind of headed in the right direction.

    Out of the woods brewery I live on the edge of the woods, it seemed fitting and I just liked the name when I read a comic called sweet tooth out of the woods.

    thanks for the support! it went smoothly here are some photos from the brew itself. water added to the mix almost ready to be stirred with the yeast on top with the yeast stirred in before sealing it up. Now all I have to do is wait.....
