    BIAB first timer

I'll probably just dump it to free the keg up and to go again. In for about €20 on it so not the end of the world and hopefully an experience I can learn from Think my fermentation setup is what needs some tweaking so will look at that and improve Still, actual BIAB method suits me very nicely...

    BIAB first timer

Alas she didn't work out in the end. Fermented well enough and temp was kept pretty steady. Tasted a bit off before kegging but thought it was just a yeasty flavour so kegged away and carbed for a few days Taste test last night and barely drinkable. I think it's acetyldehyde due to appley smell...

    Star san lifespan

Hi all, sorry if this one has been asked a million times but wondering how long I can continue to use Star San for? Usually make up a 20 litre batch on brewday for soaking all gear etc and fill a spray bottle from that. Feasibly how long can I continue to use that bottle? Asking because I've...

    BIAB first timer

Evening all. First BIAB today, Citra Smash using my new Blichmann 10 gal kettle Admittedly a bit lax with numbers etc, more worried about getting used to new equipment and method, but went pretty well I think Wasn't helped by a wet and windy day here in Dublin, flame went out a few times. Happy...

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Considering doing my first AG BIAB Just a SMASH with either Citra or Cascade to give the BIAB a go. Have done AG using a picnic cooler a few years back but after a hiatus of 3 years have done an extract and a partial recently so will be a bit of a step. But have all the gear and it looks pretty...

First brew in over 3 years

Quick update: Alas this one never seem to got going. Temp control was fine but didn't get much fermentation. Did just pitch the dry yeast, which has worked before, but maybe it was off or something. A quick sample doesn't actually taste bad so may leave it a bit longer. Still, happy to be back...

What I did for beer today

Ordered a porter mash kit Cleaned the keg after my son's first birthday party yesterday Had an APA on tap and by all accounts it went down very well. Carbonation wasn't perfect due to Co2 running out during the week, but we persevered:)
