    GFCI Question

Got new 4 wire and ran it today and hooked it up. Everything working great. Thanks everyone.

    GFCI Question

I understand this is the way to do it. But trying to understand why it should be done this way, I want to ask another question. If I run a new 4 wire line to disconnect, what is the difference connecting the ground to neutral in disconnect (which they say not to do outside main panel)? When...

    GFCI Question

That makes sense. I assume in my main panel (will check) all neutrals and ground tie into same bar. So either way I will have to run new wire with 4 wires (2-hot, neutral, & ground) to my original range outlet, change outlet to 4 prong, change plug on existing range to 4 prong (only use 3)...

    GFCI Question

So what I am understanding is I need a white neutral to go into my spa disconnect and connect to the neutral bus, but I do not need it going out on the load side?

    GFCI Question

I am 95% done with my E-Brewery. I tested the system and everything works great except for one thing that concerns me. When I hit the test button on the GFCI it does not trip the breaker. Here is what I have. 40A breaker in my main panel running 6/2 (2-120V hots and ground) wire going to a...

Would this work? Two 1500w elements in a sankey.

I do the same with 2-1500w sticks like you, but I had to insulate keg to get what I thought was a strong enough boil.

how to check Alcohol % after beer is already done.

You can do this with a refractometer and hydrometer. Beersmith will do it and here is a link for an online calculator. From this you will get your OG, then you can calculate your ABV.

when do i do a late extract addition?

Its been awhile, but I would use about 1/4 of your LME at the beginning of boil then add remaining around 20 to 15 left in boil.

    White Labs Hefe IV WLP380

I use WLP380 quite often and have never gotten pronounced banana. It is very faint, some of my untrained friends dont even notice banana until I point it out. I usually ferment at 62 wort temp, I have never tried it warmer so I cant comment if that is the problem, but I would suspect it to be...

    Ranco vs Johnson?

    Ranco vs Johnson?

I have both and they very similiar. The only difference I know of is if you want to change to heating mode on the Johnson you have to take the back off and switch a jumper, on the Ranco it can be done from the front panel settings menu. If you do some searching you can get the Ranco for $80...

    Electric BK & Payne Controller

Does anyone have any opinions/comments on using a Payne Controller for the boil kettle. I am looking at the 18TB -2 -25, it is rated at 25A-5900W @ 240V. I understand it wont do all the things a PID will do but I am only going to be using this in the BK.

    Question On Gnome Soda flavorings

For 5 gallons of rootbeer I use 3oz Gnome, 1lb honey, 4.25lb sugar, 1lb malto dextrin.

    Question On Gnome Soda flavorings

I usually add malto dextrin and honey to my Gnome rootbeer along with sugar and water. The malto dextrin gives it a creamier mouthfeel.
