One more question: PBW does a great job removing hard to remove stains...so...after brewing, has anyone ever tried dumping leftover PBW in toilet rather than drain? Would that do damage? Could it remove hard water stain?

Just started brewing a Hefe extract. Thought I had a yeast harvest for WLP320...but all I have in stock is WLP500 (Trappist), wyeast 1056, and WLP007 (dry English ale). Thoughts? Should I roll with the WLP500?

I'm at Aldi now. See Tandil brand but can't tell if it is scented or not?? Did yours say unscented soccer dad?

To build on OP topic, if he leaves in primary for two weeks transfers to secondary for two weeks and then cold crashes for a week, will there be any healthy yeast left for bottle carbonation? Or would he need to add yeast during bottling process?

I'm a newbie as well. I read that aeration should occur prior to pitching yeast. Was this a potential flaw in OP process?

After cold crashing secondary and bottling, can I save trub and reuse yeast?

Thanks for the reply JWin. I agree with your comments, UT my question is around what to do now that I have already used bleach on equipment. If there is any residue from bleach or soap, will PBW and/or starsan take care of it before my next batch?

Let me start by saying I'm a beginner and initially used bleach as cleaner and sanitizer. I'm now using bleach as cleaner and starsan as sanitizer. I wash bottles with soap, but always sanitize with starsan prior to bottling. I plan on using this PBW recipe as my future cleaner. My perhaps...
