No hose clamp on picknick tap?

I ordered the three keg set up from Keg Connection and there are no hose/tubing clamps where the picknick tap connects, just shoved in. Is this a problem or should I go buy some. It would suck to have those things blow off in the middle of the night. Why would they not put those on?

    Newbie kegging question

When i carb my beer (12 to 14 psi for at least one week at 42 degrees) should I not connect the party tap during this time to lessen the chance of leaks? After a week can I just connect the ball lock party tap or do i need to release the pressure, connect and the repressurize?

    10 gal batch, diffrent colors?

It was all-grain and I did not top it off with water. I assume one did have more break material just because it was the last one siphoned from the pot. I think I'm going to siphon half the carboy in to each keg and then repeat. simple solution.

    10 gal batch, diffrent colors?

I brewed a ten gallon batch of nb american wheat a week ago. split the batch into two different carboys. after a week of fermenting, they are different colors. What causes this and can I or should I some how blend the two to make a consistent flavor/visual profile? I'm just trying to avoid the...

    Over Carb Questions

I brewed a american wheat, amber ale and a cream ale about four months ago. I bottled carb and conditioned the beer for 2 weeks. all was good, then had to work out of town for three months. I left a six pack of eack beer in closet at a temp of approx 70 to 75 degrees. I primed the bottles with 1...

Coopers ale yeast for a American wheat?

Has anyone tried it? I have some extra coopers dry ale yeast and would like to save a little money. The discription says "woody, fruity esters at higher temps" I normaly use saf-05. fruity is fine but the woody kind of scares me. Any thoughts? what temp should I ferment?

Can an IPA be too dry?

How do you stop it from getting that low, seems like all of (only 10 ag) mine are below 1.010. It doesn't bother me, but i don't understand how to control it.

    Damn, this hobby is CRAZY!

I drank nothing but bush light for 15 years, got a Mr. beer for christmas, brewed 2 beers and was addicted. Went from Mr. beer to all-grain and love it. I've spent just as much money but with the help of a brew partner. Haven't drank a bush light (and will never again) in 5 months. And the best...

I never heard of such a place, sounds pretty cool. how does it work? Is it a Club? Do you have to pay? Are you positive you are bottling the same beer that you cooked?

1 Quart of Star San in 3 wk Fermentor

Thats a relief, I'll give it another week or so and see how she taste. I made it purposely strong so i don't think dilution will be much of a problem.

1 Quart of Star San in 3 wk Fermentor

More like four gallons, thats part of the reason for the backflow. Warning: put blow off tube and starsan below the level of the beer in fermentor especially when useing a plastic better bottle with ac unit ferm chamber.

1 Quart of Star San in 3 wk Fermentor

    Bubbles in Siphon

Ahha, the piston seal, i bet money that is the problem! Puting a filter on it would increase resistance and the sucktions is looking for the path of least resistance. I will try filling it with beer and see how it works, thanks!

    Bubbles in Siphon

is it hurting anything? should I put a filter at the out flow end of the siphon tube instead?

    Bubbles in Siphon

I like to dry hop in my primary fermentor. Trying not to get a lot of hops and other stuff into my bottling bucket, I put a couple of pieces of cheese cloth at the base of the siphon as a filter. For some reason, even though the bottom of the siphon and filter is completely submerged, LOTS of...
