I wouldn't worry to much about a starter if your going to brew in a couple hours get it out and warmed up. Smack it and let it sit while you brew and by the time your ready to pitch it should be ready to go.

Cold crashing is mainly for clarity. It doesn't kill the yeast at all. It puts them to sleep per say. But it does however make it alot easier to get the beer off the cake with alot less yeast in suspension

I just used wyeast for the first time myself. It took about 18 hours to take off as well... my first question would how long did you let it sit after you smacked it and how did you aerate?

Thanks guys i did take a peek this morning and there seems to be fermentation still going on. Still have a lot of krausen on top of there beer. So i will let it be till thursday! Got to move to it to secondary so i can get my next brew in the fermenter. ( I really need another bucket!) :rockin:

Sublimis The pack swelled very well and i sanitize everything that comes in contact with my beer and my sg was 1.045! the middle of the road sg is why i didn't make a starter.

What temp is the area then in currently? If its below say 70-73 f i would move them to somewhere warmer and give them another week

At this point i would just relax and let it do its thing. The growler may take a bit longer to get carbed up or may be a little under carbed but hey if it tastes good drink it.
