    Which bottles are best and old grolsch bottle surprise

    anyone ever use "red stripe" bottles? a friend donated a six pack of empties. I tried capping one and seemed to work fine. just curious.

    First Brew Experiance

    I have my first batch in bottles about two weeks now. Feeling a bit like a kid waiting on Christmas morning. My OCD flared up during my first batch as well: I kept a log of fermentation temps and the rate of bubbling in airlock throughout primary fermentation.

    how long from brew day to bottling? the instructions are a little generic at this point. they say 1 week in primary, 2 weeks in secondary, then bottle. others are saying this type of stout can take months.

    mine is in the fermenter now, bubbling away. I only ended up using the one packet of yeast. I reiterated it and pitched at 70deg. after only 5 hours the airlock is bubbling. I will take that as a good sign.

    I boil two cups of water and stir in my priming sugar. then add sugar water to my bottlong bucket. then rack the beer to my bucket, stir, and bottle.
