    Propane exchanges are for newbs.

So it just occurred to me this morning that some people are probably doing propane exchanges so I figured I would post up a comparison. I have 2 nice shiny propane tanks, with refill gauges on them. I noticed it costs $22 in my area to exchange a single propane tank, and get who knows what...

Is your beer better than anything you can get at the store?

I have brewed 2 batches that are better than anything stylistically similar than I have ever had commercially. The other 20 or so are drinkable but not as good, and a couple I have brewed have been terrible. However, I have tried commercial beers that have litterally made me gag, and nothing...

    GABF 2010. Who's Going?

Interesting, I guess the chiles would be fairly random to work on. Who knows, maybe I hit them at the right time of the night and the rest of my consumption made it just seem to hit the spot. The cheeses were nice too, even though the wait was rediculous

Next Brew, my first Stout, Chocolate Oatmeal Stout, could use some mentoring.

I usually make a chocolate syrup by adding sugar and water and boiling then add to secondary. The small fermentation helps keep the cocoa suspended longer. Go 4 oz or more.

My score cards just arrived in the mail from my first competition!

In my first comp i got a 17 and a 19, so your scores are awesome. However the feedback was incredibly useful, and my beers improved because of it.

    GABF 2010. Who's Going?

Am I the only one that found Pancho Verde Chile Cerveza by Rio Grande Brewing Company? Myself and my GABF Buddy thought it was the best beer at the fest, but havent seen much comment on it.

Craft brewing? NO, it's Art brewing!

Dont forget experience and wisdom... Even Michalangelo probably had a few Troglodyte's before he met with david. I still consider it a craft, im not much of an artist though. I also regaurd cooking as a craft, rather than art. Even metalworking sculptures I generalize into the craft craft so...

7A. Northern German Altbier Aroma: Subtle malty, sometimes grainy aroma. Low to no noble hop aroma. Clean, lager character with very restrained ester profile. No diacetyl. Appearance: Light copper to light brown color; very clear from extended cold conditioning. Low to moderate off-white to...

    Wine Yeast for Beer?

https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f163/wine-yeast-beer-154830/ Oddly enough when I looked at the forum these two identically titled threads were right on top of eachother

Look at this old mead I found...

Its hard to say from the pic, how has it been stored? Is there a lot of sediment in the bottom? It kind of looks like its less than full, which could mean evaporation and consequently oxidation.

Can you post your recipe? I like Altbier and generally find them to be pretty flavorful.
