    tea bag for 60 min? If i understand correct. i used a small guage wire and hang it on the brew kettle. then it just does its thing and i can pull it out with the wire. edit: nevermind i understand.

    yeah that would work. trial and error i guess. if you pull the bag out and its tight you know u didnt leave enough space. not the best answer but the best i have:D

    Your weird in your crowd. I was weird in mine. Went thourgh the same thing. Eventually you'll find some other weird people to hang around that have the same weird intrest and just like that you'll be normal.

    Yeah that is easier. The only reason I take out all the water I can is that if I wash yeast from a strong IPA I'm afraid Ill get some of the Hop flavors in my next brew. It only takes about 30 seconds or so to suck it out with a turkey baster and just makes me feel better:). Then i swirl the...

    I dont use a starter with my washed yeast either. I usually through in 2 of them for higher grav. I dont know if this is a good idea, but it seems to be working out alright.
