Show Me Your Wood Brew Sculpture/Rig

Mine isn't really hard to get vertical. Biggest problem is being sure to grab the 2x4's or 4x4's. I just squat, and stand up, then its mostly vertical.

    Cutting square hole through steel

Went to Home Depot and saw some reinforced cutoff wheels for a dremel. They cut through the panel very easily, just had to file a little to fit the pid through. I only used 3 wheels for two cutouts. When I tried using a dremel to cutout the hole for the heat sink, it scratched the surface of...

Show Me Your Wood Brew Sculpture/Rig

I had planned on leaving on my deck, but the landlord threatened to evict me unless I removed it. I store it inside next to the door. I usually brew on Sundays now so they don't get offended by the stand.

    First Sake

I just made my first sake using the directions and ingredients from www.homebrewsake.com. It turned out good, but it does have a slight yeasty/moldy/funky taste. Is this normal? If it is not normal, what can I do to help prevent this in my next sake?

Show Me Your Wood Brew Sculpture/Rig

Finished my single tier wooden stand. I'm still working on the control panel. I've used the new stand several times, and it is much easier than the 3 tier stand I originally had.

Funny things you've overheard about beer

Customers that come into the store I work at and ask to fill their keg. Then get angry that the keg they got isn't the keg they brought in (for deposit).

    Leaking plate chiller

I tried tightening the hose disconnect with a wrench and think that will solve the problem. From a thread on another forum this problem was fixed by doing this. Thanks for you reply.

    Leaking plate chiller

I started using a plate chiller for my last 2 batches. The chiller has been leaking from the water in connection. I used plumbing tape on the threads, but this didn't help. I have been turning the water on all the way. Should I be reducing the flow of water going in, or is the chiller defective?

    Why boil the wort chiller?

I just add the chiller and hop spider as soon as I put my boil kettle on the burner, one less thing to forget to add later on.

    Brew Your Own Cancelled?

My order was cancelled too. The email said it was due to a technical issue. It also said to check the order status for more information. I checked, but the order was deleted.
