2 Vessel BruControl RIMS 15 Gallon Brewery Build

Well, pushing a physical button is just as easy as pushing a virtual button. The advantage comes from the flexibility. But if I was going to keep my present system (which I can't because I sold it, buyer is deployed atm) I wouldn't be particularly motivated to switch to a software based...

    My new Keezer

I saw a couple tap handles floating in the air. Where was the keezer?

    Mormon Pioneer Homebrew Recipes?

Mormons have something called the "Words of Wisdom" which is where the rule against coffee/caffeine comes from and where eventually all alcohol was a no-no. But the "Words of Wisdom" are not supposed to be hard and fast rules, just generally good ideas. It hasn't been until relatively recently...

2 Vessel BruControl RIMS 15 Gallon Brewery Build

I guess that might be where I end up, except I don't really care to use the software if most of my process can't be automated. It's pretty disappointing since I've bought a lot of stuff and designed a completely new system with the idea that it would be automated and use stuff sold by...

So you already have all the valves and other sensors you need, mostly just switching to the software? Do you mind if I ask where you got your valves?

2 Vessel BruControl RIMS 15 Gallon Brewery Build

How easy would it be to go with a brewpi vs brewcontrol? I think the BCS could also be an option, I don't think I need any more I/O than it has. Also, what is a good source for electronic valves that meet the needs of brewing?

    Spike Complete System

Depends on a few factors, but for me I figure on 5 hours, but I can finish a 10gal brew a little faster than that most times. There are a few things that can change the duration. Mash time, you could go anywhere from 30min to 1.5hrs or more. I usually do 1hr. If you do a mash out that could add...

2 Vessel BruControl RIMS 15 Gallon Brewery Build

So one of the packages from my Spike order got orphaned so my Mash Tun and both CF15 Unitanks got here today. Boil Kettle here on Monday. I am somewhat slightly concerned about fermenting 15gal batches in the CF15 unitank. I thought total volume was 18gal, but the markings go up to 17 and...

    Mormon Pioneer Homebrew Recipes?

Have you seen the book "Beer in the Beehive"? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001DCBS4Q/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 I'll crack my copy open and see if there are any old recipes in there. Also, Fischer Brewery is a reboot of a brewery that existed in SLC prior to prohibition and I think a few of...

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Does the arduino mega need either the analog amplifier board or a DIY low-pass filter to use the proportional valves? I didn't see it listed on the order list?

    1 beer, two cups

So vessel geometry has been shown to have at least a little bit of impact on fermentation. Different yeast packs, maybe one vessel had the clear wort, one had the stuff from the bottom of the bk, O2, whatever, all could play a small role in why one is different than the other. It is...

    1 beer, two cups

No idea, but what would pitching 100,000,000 to 200,000,000 yeast cells into something that easily contains several billion active yeast cells accomplish?

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

@BrunDog I know I read about wiring on the proportional valves before, and from what I remember you do not wire the feedback signal wire up on yours? My concern is being able to use the 3-wire XLR connectors.

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

I assumed I was restricted to 24v outputs. Good to know. But can I actually switch ac as well? Like my ac pumps?

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

I think this is the schematic, my board is similar I guess I misunderstood the wiring. So I'm going to need to wire +24 to each of the C1, C2... terminals?

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

Can you show a pic? I assumed, at least with the board I have, I wire 24V to the VCC terminal from the 24V power supply (or a 24V bus). Is that not how these things work? You have to wire 24V from the power supply (..bus) to each com terminal? That doesn't seem right to me. I'll take a pic of...
