Best way to keep keezer from freezing?

Yeah, already have the dual-stage controller going. Just don't have anything plugged into the "heat" side. Thanks for the info!

Best way to keep keezer from freezing?

Since it got down to around -4°F last night, I've started to think about the best way to keep my keezer from freezing in my garage. After much searching on here there seems to be three main methods people use: 1. Light bulb 2. Ceramic heater 3. Reptile tank heating pad. I'm leaning...

    Cider separated in fermenter?

Are you referring to the normal Trub (pretty sure cider has a different name for it) you'd see while fermenting?

    Sparkling Hard Cider

Kind of a bump on this thread, but I can't seem to find a straight answer anywhere. My current batch of cider has been in the keg (and in the keezer) for a good month at this point. Do I still need to try to kill the yeast if I were to backsweeten now? My thinking is that the yeast won't be...

So why bother adding any at the beginning, then?

Odell selling used bourbon barrels - $50.

Looks like they do this once a year or so. This was on their Facebook page today: "Hi friends, we have some used bourbon barrels for sale. They are $50 (plus tax), and are available at the brewery. First come, first serve (must be present to purchase and no reservations). Stop by our...

    Pittsburgh hop garden

Citra are a patented plant, and as such you will never be able to purchase a rhizome (unless the owner feels like selling them).

    2 quick keezer questions..

There's nothing special about the gas line in terms of the color, but 5/16" is what you'll need. It's also recommended that you use 3/16" for your beer line, and length is really dependent on a number of things (see line balancing calculators). That said, starting with 10' is fine, and will...

Great American Beer Fest - Denver CO

Sweet! I'm going to be a greeter on Thursday from 2:00 - 7:00, and wasn't aware of this perk to being a volunteer.

    carbonater cap leaking!

From what I've read, over-tightening is the most common cause of leaks with those.

    Android on Verizon

I love my Droid 2, and have heard excellent things about the D3. I rarely use the physical keyboard since the latest beta of Swype is so good. I'm also running Liberty 0.9 instead of the stock OS, which gives me some excellent performance boosts.

Picnic tap issue, new to kegging

I just had this same problem on Sunday. Bartender was serving my homebrew at my sister-in-law's wedding and somebody had to come get me since the picnic tap wouldn't stop pouring. Turns out the screw on top was about a half turn too loose, tightened it down and all was well.

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

I did a batch for my sister-in-law's wedding this past weekend, slightly modified with an extra 1 oz of Citra (60) and WLP041 Pacific Ale yeast. It got rave reviews, and IMO was the best beer I've made so far. Can't wait to make it again so that I'll get to drink more than a glass or two...

    Beer clean glasses

I've been fighting with kegerator foam for a couple of weeks now, and this thread made me think it's actually my glasses. If I use one of my regular US pint glasses (which are dishwashed and used as normal drinking glasses) then it's foam central. The other night I poured a pint into a New...

First time using Citra (Please critique)

I just kegged an Ed's Haus pale ale, with some hop modifications - including my first citra experience: 1oz Citra (60), .5oz Cascade (30), .5oz Cascade (15), 1oz Cascade (5). Nice and bitter (~70 IBU), TONS of grapefruit. After reading more about citra, I probably should have reversed the hop...
