    Budget Bar Build

I'd consider using a thicker plywood for the bar front. 1/2" at the very least, 3/4" being ideal. If someone bumped into or accidentally kicked 1/4" ply it may bow and/or make a thud that will sound hollow or cheap. If you want this to last and be a quality piece of furniture I'd use a heavier...

Coleman 52 quart Xtreme Cooler sale

Don't worry about it.... I ended up going with the 52 quart just for the storage limitations I have. I'll be putting it all together tonight. The best part? I ended up getting the cooler for $15. On top of the sale price at kmart.com ($31.49), I found another 10% off coupon code and redeemed...

Coleman 52 quart Xtreme Cooler sale

Sorry about that. The link should work now. The 70qt is a good deal too. I have no plans to make big beers but who knows. Would anyone happen to know there would be any problems if your mash tun is too big? I think I'd go with the bigger one if there aren't any issues with efficiency just in...

Coleman 52 quart Xtreme Cooler sale

Hey just wanted to give everyone a heads up. The Coleman 52 quart Xtreme cooler is on sale on kmart.com. Regularly $55.99 on sale for $34.99 and you get another 10% off (automatically deducted in the cart) bringing it to $31.49. Not sure if this is an in-store deal but you can order online and...

    MDF Fermentation Chamber

I would never use MDF anywhere near moisture, even if it's sealed. MDF crumbles and warps with even the slightest bit of moisture. Why not just use plywood? The cost difference isn't that big and you wouldn't have to worry about it crumbling.

bottle and keg the same batch

Other than the fact that you're using more gas I don't think it will be a problem. The empty headspace will be taken up by the co2 and as long as it's at the proper PSI the beer doesn't know how much headspace there is. Let me finish this by saying I am no kegging expert.

    Good price for kegs?

Thanks. Ended up getting them for $35 each and they're in great condition.

    Good price for kegs?

I found 4 ball lock cornys on craigslist for $40 each. The seller says they hold pressure. They appear to be clean and in good shape. Is this a good deal? Any info would be much appeciated. Thanks. Ryan

    Bottling sucks!

That's a great idea... A lot of the problems I was having was dealing with the wand attached to the tubing (where to put it when capping). And my kitchen layout sucks so my bottles aren't within an arms reach when sitting in front of the bottling bucket. I'm sure as time goes on I'll get a...

    Bottling sucks!

Bottled my first batch of beer today and I already hate doing it. I made such a mess from overspill not to mention that my bottle filler malfunctioned and failed to stop the flow of beer after I removed it from the bottle. I figure that at least 12-18oz's spilled before I got it corrected :mad...
