    Belgian Tripel Tripel Karmeliet Clone

I'm drinking this now for the first time and am interested in attempting a clone. That said, I have a couple of other beers in the pipeline, so it will be a while for me. Appreciate you sharing your recipe and I've bookmarked it for later.

    New Keezer Build.

Very nice setup! Curious where you purchased the drip tray. I have a converted Sanyo mini fridge with a 2-tap tower, but like the look of your tray vs. the rectangular type that's more commonly used.

    First Pour From Keg Sour

No, unfortunately I dont. Good suggestion.

    First Pour From Keg Sour

No, it's the second beer through the new lines. Had a Belgian Blonde on first, but thinking back, it also didn't taste like it normally does. Maybe I need to replace the lines, which I'm not looking forward to, as it's a huge pain given the tap tower I have. Thanks for the suggestion, though.

    First Pour From Keg Sour

Yes, my first thought was the lines, but I recently changed them and also run BLC between kegs. It's possible that there is just something there that didn't get cleaned. Not sure. Also, the sour taste is only with the first pour, and only really with the first couple of ounces. May have to...

    First Pour From Keg Sour

Hello all - I recently brewed a very popular Witbier recipe from this site and have noticed that the first pour from the tap tastes sour. If I dump the first couple of ounces then the beer tastes great. Although I'm fine with dumping the first bit of the pour, this isn't something I've...

I CANNOT believe what I just drank- wow

Wow, very nice and I'm sure you were surprised to find it on the menu. I can imagine it wasn't cheap. I've picked up bottles in Amsterdam and they usually run over $20 US per bottle.

Enjoy by clone - Now that's a lot of hops!

These are hard to find in store around here for some reason. I was at the brewery on a work trip to San Diego last week, but was there just for the day and didn't have any bags to check; otherwise, I would have stuffed a few of these in my luggage. They had plenty in their store at the brewery.

    Belgian yeast what a gas

Just give it time and if gravity readings haven't changed over a few days time then go ahead and rack it. I brewed a wit nearly three weeks ago and there is still a fine layer of krausen on the top. No big deal, as I know it will eventually drop. Many of the Belgian strains tend to take their...

Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer Founder's Breakfast Stout clone (2011 HBT Competition Category 21 winner)

Just racked this out of secondary into the keg. It will be a few more days till it's carbed, but holy hell it's good. I've had the real thing and this recipe is very close from what I remember. Lots of coffee up front, silky smooth texture from the oats and the alcohol is very well hidden. Will...

    How often do you brew?

Early morning brew sessions are your friend. I have three small children and I try to mash in by 5:30 a.m. when I brew, which means I'm all cleaned up before 10:00 a.m. It's so nice to brew when the house is quiet and I can concentrate on everything while enjoying a cup of coffee.

Going on Vacation Mi to San Francisco

Anchor is likely not an option without advanced planning, as they book out very far in advance. It is a cool tour, though. RRBC and Lagunitas are both excellent, as is Bear Republic in Healdsburg. I'll second the recommendation for Toronado and will add City Beer Store to the list of stops while...

Do You Dryhop Your Pale Ales?

@Heavywalker - looks like a great hop schedule. Mind sharing the rest of the recipe? And no, I don't generally drop hop pale ales, but might have to change that.

    sierra Nevada Blindfold Black IPA

I'm surprised I haven't seen this available anywhere given where I live. Will have to seek it out, as I'm generally not a fan of black IPAs.

    Just Another Brew Day...(Pics)

Just finished brewing this and noticed the wort has a fairly strong orange taste. This makes sense given the 3 oz. of orange peel for the 5-gal batch, but hoping it fades a bit. Any comments on this from anyone? Incidentally, my O.G. came in at just 1.040, which isn't a huge miss, but it still...

    Early Morning Brews

Started a bit later than I would have liked, but spent the afternoon at Russian River yesterday and brought home a growler of Pliny, so... Anyhow, mashing in as of 5:45 and listening to to some Grateful Dead, Workingman's Dead and drinking some home roasted coffee. Great way to start the day.

    Brewing and drinking? Yes Please!

Mashing in at 6 a.m. means coffee and some calm music. That said, I just brewed a Founder's Breakfast Stout clone, so maybe it's time for some experimentation.
