Keezer done, but CO2 leaks not a happy camper.

Did you remember the gasket between the CO2 tank and the regulator? I forgot this the first time I hooked up my kegerator many moons ago and had to run out for a refill within a week.

    Really stuck on cooler size

I'm still on 5 gal batches for now and I have the standard false bottom Igloo 5 gal cooler for smaller grain bills and a 70 qt for my larger grain bills.

    Natural Carbing Question

Nope. It'll be fine. That's no different than what you dilute 5 gallons of bottled beer with. I use only one cup because it's enough and it cools that much quicker and I'm very impatient.

    Pacific Hydrostar Pumps

I don't have an experience with them but one thing I noticed is the PSI is pretty high as compared the the March pumps which range from 1.8 to 6.53 PSI. http://morebeer.com/public/pdf/h315.pdf

    Natural Carbing Question

I use one cup. You just need enough water to allow the sugar to dissolve.

    Reusing Old Dishwasher Parts

I was watching the BrewMagic video with Sam Caglione, the one where he mentions that the BrewMagic system is a cheap way to get started in homebrewing, and he mentioned his first grain mill was run be an old dishwasher motor. I'll have to do some exploratory surgery.

Using Bottling Bucket with Spigot or Bottle Filler?

Definitely go with the hose attached to the spigot attached to the wand.

    A Couple of Kegging Questions

I would have normally waited until it was cooled but I had a corny-lid mismatch and was half-way through prepping a second batch to keg. Note to self when cleaning more than one keg at a time: Remember which parts go with which keg.

    some yeast starter questions...

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that about not using an airlock.

    A Couple of Kegging Questions

    1) I just moved my first naturally carbed keg into the kegereator tonight and when I pulled the relief valve it was a foam geyser. I followed the priming sugar calculations for kegging which was (if I remember correctly) 2.8oz for 5 gals at 40degs. Should I have released pressure throughout...

    Recircluating No Sparge Mash Tun

I'm thinking of giving the no sparge technique a try as mentioned in this post. I have the same cooler and converted it to a batch sparge mash tun as shown in this post. Although I lost the braid and have to redo that. Since I have to redo the braid anyway should I go with a manifold...

    20 - 40 Gallon All Grain Setup

I can't vouch for any of them, but like Chefmj said, I've heard good things about BrewMagic. I'm moving up to 10 gal batches next year after Bonus-mas and am planning on getting one of Sabco's keggles. I'm not ready for full blown automation as I can't justify the price. If you want bigger...

    Big Ale Critique

That's what I was going for but wasn't sure if there was an official category for it.

    Reusing Old Dishwasher Parts

We have an old D/W that's been up for the taking on Craig's List for a while, but no one's biting. Before I pay to have it hauled away, is there anything I basterdize from it? The pump that empties it is probably what's broken. Any ideas?

    Big Ale Critique

    I guess this would fall in the American Barley Wine category. Comments? Thoughts? 18lb 2-Row 1lb Melanoiden .25 Crystal 40L .25 Special B 1lb Molasses 2oz Chinook @ 60 min 1oz Cascade @ 20 min 1 oz Cascade @ 5 min .25 tsp ground cloves @ 15 min 1 cinnamon stick @ 15 min 1...

    Odd Allergy Question

Actually, she has an immune disorder which was originally thought to possible be lupus so I'll mention it to her. She has two kinds of allergies, in addition to standard seasonal staff. This is the same reaction she gets from cheeses and anchovies. The other is that she's deathly allergic...

    Bottling from keg

Yeah, for short term drinking I just do the tubing into the tap thing.

    Odd Allergy Question

Just a minor irritation on the lips. Nothing anafilactic or anything.
