    Mario Keezer

Thanks all! This hobby really is a labor of love, and with all the inspiration I have gotten for the hobby from this board it feels good to share for a change :mug:

    Mario Keezer

So there I was, staring at the plumbing and toilet parts in Lowe's contemplating how I was going to make a tap tower for my three tap keezer and then it hit me "those pipes look kinda familiar if I paint the black pipe green", I thought to myself. With that, an idea was born. As I played with...

    Cutting shank shorter

Yah, it's a stainless shank so instead of risking the shank I was able to finagle my tower design to get it to barely fit. Still good advice though, thanks!

    Cutting shank shorter

I have a shank that it a few inches too long for my setup and I was thinking that I could just cut it shorter instead of buying a whole new one at the shorter size and searching appears to not bring up anything. Are there any issues to be aware of or can I just cut it with a saw with a metal...

Harbor Freight - Step Drill Deal

My store had that set, it's actually the one I used to make my keggle... it worked great!

    My Weldless Build Using Strut

I just clamped a 2x4 with a square edge to the strut and used it as a guide for my sawsall. I clamped the strut to my workbench for stability because I was working alone and got good straight cuts. Just make sure you got a good metal blade and it should cut like butter

Help, stuck ball fitting valve beer line

I had one that I had to use my impact wrench on.. sometimes they take a lot of force to get off if they haven't been cleaned or were put on too tight

    carbing water in my corny

I use 3/16" hose on my setup, but like I said at 25 feet. If I have to use a shorter line, I drop an epoxy mixer or two into the dip tube and it slows it down too. Here's the thread on that: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f35/cure-your-short-hose-troubles-100151/

    carbing water in my corny

I keep a keg of water on tap for mixing, but I have mine at 50 with a 25 foot line and it comes out fine

Cutting the bottom out of a freezer...

I always thought that was the general principle behind the cheaper freezer on the top fridges...

    Arduino Based Keezer

how are you connecting the sensors to the beer line? I assume 1/2" NPT to 1/4" barb. Do you have any problems with foaming with that?

Do you enjoy brewing more than drinking?

I also brew MUCH faster than I drink. I think the last keg I kicked took about 6 months to kill but when the weather warms up and bbq season kicks in the beer gets flowing by going to and throwing parties - showing up with a keg tends to make you real popular lol. I love brewing, and love...

    Sourcing Co2

I use a fire extinguisher place and they do it no problem. As a bonus when I told the guy that I was using it for kegging he told me that he mixes custom beer gas on the side if I ever needed it

    Craigslist Etiquette?

For CL free, I just put it out front and end the ad with "emails or other inquiries will be ignored, the item is at my_address, if you want it come and get it" and it always disappears. I just gave away an old cheap vinyl pool *covered* with algae this weekend and even that disappeared by the...

    "Non" Frostless Freezer = Keezer?

Just be careful and take note where the cooling coils are. In many (most?) upright freezers, the cooling elements run through the shelves, not just in the walls like a chest style freezer if I remember correctly.

What to do with empty draft lines

I fill my empty kegs and lines with water while they are waiting to be filled with beer. It helps the keezer keep cold too with the extra thermal mass so it doesn't have to work as hard

    Fined vs Convicted

I know! I got a ticket for the same thing in Vegas and it was something like $1200 if I couldn't bring proof to the courthouse to get it waived

    Potential bluetooth fermentation temp monitor

I have been keeping an eye on these bluetooth location stickers and they just announced that they were able to include a thermometer in with every unit... which of course made my mind jump right to fermentation or use in a keezer. I think if you were to stick one on the side of your...
