    Decompression Ale clone?

Recently my girlfriend got me one month in a brew club, and my favorite of the beers received was Maritime Pacifics Decompression Ale. It is an American strong ale, I am new to brewing so don't really know where to start. Any hints or tips would be great, even a standard base for an American...

    Fruity Pebbles ale? need help!

I popped one of these open yesterday, and to my surprise its the best beer I've brewed yet! I will be doing this recipe again soon without any alterations.... besides maybe some dry hopping with cascade and pebbles. Try this recipe out! I wonder if it would be this good without the fruity...

    Home Brewing Noob

I like biab. Not much equipment needed, makes great beer every time. I just use 5 gal paint straining bags for grain n hops in a turkey frying pot and I split 5 gallon recipes into 2 mr beer fermentors (or I use brew builder to convert to 2.25 gal). The paint straining bags are about 5$ and can...

    can i split a smackpack?

Actually this is very helpful because I didn't understand that it would stress the yeast. I have only been brewing for a bit over a year and haven't done enough reading on it I suppose. Next time I brew I will be sure to make a starter now that I understand why. I am looking forward to see how...

    can i split a smackpack?

I came downstairs an hour and a half after smacking the pack and it was ready to explode!!! So I poked it with a knife and started brewing. Since it got so inflated so fast I just figured id try and see if I could simply split the wyeast. I pitched the yeast around 130 this afternoon, and now...

    can i split a smackpack?

Just smacked my pack! While getting my brew stuff ready I realized I have some safale 05 sitting around. I am going to brew one with wyeast and one w safale. I plan on brewing up all the ingredients in 3 gallons of water, splitting them into 2 fermentors and topping them both off with water...

    can i split a smackpack?

I've never actually made a starter before, usually I use whitelabs or dry yeast though, but when I use either I just use half of the contents. Is the wyeast that different or will it work the same?

    can i split a smackpack?

So I brew 2.25 gallon batches via brew in a bag (BIAB) and ferment in my mr beer fermenters. When I get premade kits for 5 gallons I just split the grains or extract and hops into 2. My last order included a wyeast smack pack, my question is can I split the contents of the smack pack into two...

    SMaSH recipe, drinkable?

I will be trying a SMaSH (single malt and single hop) beer tomorrow with what I have left from a recipe I did a few weeks ago, I am afraid to let the crushed grains get too old. It is for a 2.25 gallon recipe: 5 lbs 2 row @ 150 for 60 .5 oz cascade @60 .25 oz cascade @30 .25 oz cascade @15...
