Looks like a white dust after I dry hopped

This is pushing me away from using a muslin sack, gonna be pouring some citra straight in the carboy today. I had my first infection recently and its a huge bummer.

Need speedy and tasty recipe for May 5th

A few buddies and I are going to join the annual keg races at my school. Instead of bringing a keg of swill we will be bringing a radio flyer wagon with a mountain of ice around my kegging system. (5 gallon pinlock, 10lb co2 tank and chrome faucet) Unfortunately it slipped our minds so we need...

    Technique on flat bottles....

I've shaken and warmed a 2 gallon batch of stout I made. It worked great, if you've refrigerated any, pull them out. Unless you didn't add sugar or it didn't get evenly distributed it will work. I've heard of people putting individual grains of yeast in each bottle and recapping but that seems a...

Wort chiller...is it worth the expense?

My buddy and I built a 20' one for about 24 dollars yesterday. We haven't tried it yet because we got the wrong attachment for his sink but that will be a cheap part exchange.

My first infection... what to do... keg? bottle?

I do, and I've never had an issue with it but the house I moved into has drippy water and often grows mold in the sinks, so that could be it! Looks like I need to grab some gallon jugs.

My first infection... what to do... keg? bottle?

I have no idea where the infection came from. Maybe I got too wreckless since I havee been brewing for about 2 yrs without infection. But I agree with lifes too short for bad beer. Even if this beer doesn't taste too bad I will always picture the horrible white fuzzy layer on top, there's no...

My first infection... what to do... keg? bottle?

I can't get a glass without a few white flakes in it... it doesn't taste too bad but it doesn't taste good. Do I have to throw out the fermentors too?

My first infection... what to do... keg? bottle?

So kegging an infection won't infect my beer line n keg?

My first infection... what to do... keg? bottle?

:( Was about to keg my batch of Scotch Ale and i noticed a layer of something on top so i popped the top off since I am about to keg anyways. Gross! All 5 gallons (split between 2 mr beer fermentors) are infected. If it doesn't taste too nasty and I want to keg it will it infect my keg...

left starsan in beerline. Do i need to replace it?

Do you run water through the line to rinse it at all? My keg has had a layer of san in it, but hasn't been full of it like the line. It'd seem weird to rinse then san again, but I'm not sure what sorts of residue this stuff leaves. Sometimes I find a slimy layer on the bottom of my sanitation...

left starsan in beerline. Do i need to replace it?

Great! I was hoping that the beer line I got from a keg store was higher quality than whatever random clear tube I got from farm & fleet for siphoning. Thanks! I will be kegging a scotch ale tomorrow.

left starsan in beerline. Do i need to replace it?

I left some starsan in my beer line for a few weeks, its still in there now actually. I just realized that my siphon hose I left in starsan for a week got kinda sticky from it. Is my beer line ruined? I have beer that needs to be kegged but I'm worried the inside of the line is messed up. I've...

    My first Explosive fermentation....

As I feared, the bung was blown out again during spring break. I don't know how many days the carboy was open, could have been for the whole week. I don't see any signs of infection, there's nothing on top butt a few islands of bubbles and some of the crusty trub that fell off into the beer. Any...
