WLP Pure Pitch Lot #s for Hefeweizen & German Lagers

I am looking for the lot numbers on the pure pitch paks of : WLP hefeweizen 300, 380, 351; Lager yeasts 800 and 830 and Ale yeast 036 and 029. It doesn't really matter about the dates, I just want to look at the numbers and the online data for those lots. Thanks

    Flying Bugs or Falling Air-locks?

I guess so. I currently have a blackberry wine must that went all "filmy" - at last check it still tasted nice and fruit juicy... As I am going to do sours anyway, I don't mind but I would rather not buy new things if I didn't have to. If I see a pelicule it is pretty much clear that I am at...

    Flying Bugs or Falling Air-locks?

Dr Lambic mentioned dedicating plastic and rubber items used for sour brewing to sour brewing... he mentions air-locks ... Why air locks? If they do not fall into the beer, is this really necessary?

Biterness calculation based on %AA and target AAUs

Thanks for the information. I was not aware of that resource. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to deal with AAUs. At least not in a direct user interface way. In the mean time, I have convinced myself that I have figured out my notes... yet my math does not match the advanced calculator in your...

Biterness calculation based on %AA and target AAUs

My notes are all over the place & I am now quite confused; If all I know is I want 0.75 g alpha acid in 5 gal of beer, How do I calculate the number of grams hops needed from the %AA reported on the label? (Assuming the hops get full boil time)

METALs & Storage of Na-META/Citric acid stock solution

Is there any established guidelines for storage of stock sterlizing solutins? I stored one META sol in a glass canning (jam) jar... and 8 months later the metal lining, and the associated metal underneath, exhibited some interesting behaviour: pictures should follow, but briefly... Inside...

    Interesting German Brewing PDF

Its good to go forward, but in fairness, I did feel a hint of religious fire in the discussion which makes me suspect the "belivers"; The simple truth is attention to detail makes better beer! Few here would say "The more O2 the Better" So lets go forward.

    Japan Hops Trading -

Today it looks like my last unsprouted rhizome is finally sprouting. Yes, that bud that broke the surface this morning is a young Cascade. That means that if you planted the rhizomes horrizontally, 1/2~1 inch below the surface, and watered twice daily, (or as needed to keep them in a good mood)...

Easy Stove-Top Pasteurizing - With Pics

I am writing without thinking this through so please cut me some slack if I say something stupid... but I suspect the differences in temperature are not the primary source of danger in the unwanted creation of bottle bombs... Primary consideration is the amount of carbonation at the start of...

    Home brewing in Japan

I'd say yes, no problem, but you should be aware taxation laws prohibit homebrewing of anything over1%... if you are asked, it might be better to identify products as "barley" or "food" rather than "beer making supplies" Luggage should be fine. TSA sucks. Noone is more safe because they...

What can I do with a Plastic PubKeg ?

interesting responses... hummm 1. I will have to build a system one part at a time. CO2 can come later. In the mean time, I suspect I could purge with a piece of dry ice... (?) 2. Didn't understand much of this. What is PRV? "...balance the system to get consistent pours"? Are you...

What can I do with a Plastic PubKeg ?

OK I got me a Plastic PubKeg...now what can I do with it? I would love to keg... never kegged before & so I have no gadgets... don't mind using natural co2 buildup to push it out with... what equipment do I need to get ahold of to get that of "I'm a kegger" sort of feeling?
