    New Keezer

Collar attaching to the lid is genius. I'm only 29 but I'm 6'3'' so it's a ways down to the bottom of the keezer

    New Keezer

Nice. I love it. It must be a pain getting kegs in that sucker. I can't even touch the bottom of mine. Looks like you put an 8 inch collar plus the dolly. You must have an elaborate pully system? ;)

    New Keezer

Wow that's beautiful! Is that trim on the bottom or did you building a pedistal for it to stand on?

    New Keezer

Prep work was minimal. I put one coat of primer and 2 coats of chalkboard paint. The chalkboard paint dries really fast (less the an hour) so you could have it primed and painted in a day.

21 cu ft of pure awesomeness. Covered in chalkboard paint with a cedar collar stained red. Digital Johnson controller and 3 taps. 10# co2 tank inside. Room for many more kegs.

    First all grain

I'm actually using an electric heating element in my basement. I'll have to download the trial (again) of beersmith. I've downloaded it before, but never did anything with it. Hope it will let me do it again.

    First all grain

Well i enjoy pretty much anything. Dark, light, wheat, IPA, DIPA. I'll be using a mash tun that i built this weekend from a 10 gallon round cooler. I plan on batch sparging. I do not have any software yet. although that might change before the week is over. I like the idea of a cream ale and...

    Harvesting yeast from a bottle

Wow thanks for going so Indepth! I appreciate it. I'll be buying my first stir plate very soon. I'll make sure that the beer in cloning doesn't already have their yeast available commercially. Thanks again!

    Harvesting yeast from a bottle

I want to start cloning some of my favorite beers but I know for a fact that I will never be able to nail it unless I get that yeast out of the bottle. Anyone have a good method for harvesting yeast and saving it from the bottom of the bottle?

    Cooling the wort

I fill my sink with cool water then add 3 bags of ice. Then I add salt to the ice bath. I am able to cool my wort down in 10 mins with this method.

    using coffee in a secondary

Ground coffee in a muslim bag is the way to go. I did this with a breakfast stout and it turned out fantastic. I did 3 oz (6oz in your case) of a course grind Sumatra into the secondary. You will still have some grounds that slip out of the bag but for the most part you won't notice. I agree...

Adding fruit, how and when (apples)

I am no expert but I can tell you what I know from friends and my local brew store. I personally believe that you do not need to pasteurize the apples IF you throw then into the secondary. The alcohol should protect the beer from any bad guys at this point. Putting them in boil will give you a...
