Omega yeast has a great lacto blend.... Mash, strain, cool, pitch into the kettle, let sit for about 36 to 48 hours, finish the boil and ferment as usual.
Ph drops to around 3.0 rapidly. Clean sour taste..
Love the omega..
Game changing.... No.
Efficiency changing... Yes..
Unmilled grains will keep for about a year if stored under the right conditions before they start to stale.
Also, when you get your mill look into malt conditioning... You wet the grains a bit before milling.... Less mess, better grain bed for...
The remake wasn't actually bad either surprisingly.....
"I'm wondering when you'd remember you left your helmet behind.
Sir, a helmet can interfere with my psychic abilities.
Think a bullet might interfere more."
I'm not sure about the brittle.... I have never tried it but what gives brittle its flavor is baking soda and I'm not sure how that will age in the beer?
I certainly will.... Self priming....no need to worry about position or location? This lazy man's dream.
So many carboys and buckets and just transferring star san and pbw from one to the other for cleaning should now be infinitely easier..
I got an email today from Northern Brewer for their new self priming pump..
They say 140f, 5 foot start, 1gpm and can raise liquids up to 150 ft vertically....
I bought one...ill have it next week.
Hopefully it lasts.
Reviews to come later.
Listen to interviews and read stuff from Peter Bouckaert.... He basically says he has an idea but basically just puts stuff together and makes it into beer.
If someone makes a bad batch, for the most part, they will blend it and use it in other ways...
Is there a need to "progress"? Unless he is specifically brewing to gold at the gabf... Should be just fine screwing around and enjoying the results...
"Relax. Don't worry. Have a homebrew."
I've been all grain brewing for almost 20 years..... I've just started getting into 1 gallon batches....
So quick, great fun and if it doesn't come out the way you want it..... 1 gallon is better than 5..
Im not sure if it was already mentioned but get "The Complete Joy of Homebrewing"... No...
Out of curiosity... I noticed someone made the comment to stop straining the wort.
Can you explain why? I have always strained and I haven't noticed any negative effects from it..
I don't use a funnel with a tiny screen, but instead I have a ridiculously oversized hop spyder that I double as a...
I was kind of thinking the yeast may have conversion issues due to the gravity of what was basically thin extract? it's currently working on.
The small beer while repitching may help it finish?
