    Removing labels from bottles....

+1 on this. Bucket of star San. It took my bottles almost a week though.

Most annoying response when you tell someone you're a homebrewer?

How much beer do you brew? Oh, you must be an alcoholic.

"ill never be one of those crazys that spend thousands on equipment"

Did the math on my home brewing. WITHOUT counting my propane, or electricity on my fermentation chamber, or water usage (water is included with rent where I live) my 10 gal batches run about .42 cents to .48 cents per beer, depending on abv. Not too shabby.

    How do you clean bottles

I bottle a lot. 10 gal batches, that means 100 beers. I don't waste my time rinsing them out in the sink. What I usually do is l- the day after drinking, give the used bottles a quick blast on the bottle washer, which is attached to the garden hose outside. Hang them on the bottle drying tree...

Brand new bottles -- Wash first, or just rinse and sanitizen

Wash. Soak em in oxyclean for 24 hours then rinse. Why put all that work into making a beer just to put it into questionably clean bottles? Give yourself peace of mind. Oxyclean is amazing.

    Removing labels from bottles....

You don't even need hot water. I took a ton of bottles scavenged from recycle bins, and put them in a big plastic tub. Add a big scoop of oxyclean (per 50 bottles) and hose water. Let it sit for 24 hours. Most labels with slide off. Some require a bit of work with a sponge. Anything else is not...

Most annoying response when you tell someone you're a homebrewer?

"Can u make bud light?" "What are you doing in the garage, making meth?" "I like Heineken or corona, can you make that?" "When are you going to start moonshining?"

    Reducing effiency

Props to you if you're already hitting 80% efficiency. Many Brewers spend a lot of time and money and still don't hit that mark. I'm at 82% efficiency myself, very simple system, couldn't be happier. I use beersmith to design my recipes. You can enter brew house efficiency on there and hit your...

    What's in your fermenter(s)?

10 gal of all grain (ESB) English bitter.

    Confession Time

Just throwing recipes together super randomly on beersmith. Not putting much work at all into the design. Still clean everything with oxyclean and starsan so at least I'm not getting any infections. Beer still turning out top notch!

"ill never be one of those crazys that spend thousands on equipment"

Got a chest freezer from a neighbor I turned into a fermentation chamber, $100. Jaded immersion chiller, $200. Both have made my beer awesome and so worth it!!

    Picobrew? Worth it?

Hahahaha I think all of us home brewers are the equivalent of driving a 67 Volkswagen with a standArd shift. Old school clutch is where it's at!

    Looking for a rectangular fermentor

3 gal better bottles are a little too tall. I've only got 15 in before I close the lid. They say they're around 19.5 in

    Looking for a rectangular fermentor

Don't care about the size of the fermentor. 2 gal, 3 gal.... Whatever. Just looking for something that will fit on the hump of the chest freezer

    Need a plastic rectangular fermentor

Yup they're just a little too tall. Can't close the lid of the chest freezer only got about 15 in of clearance. These ones say they're 19.5 in tall.

    Need a plastic rectangular fermentor

Honestly I'm cool with anything that will fit those dimensions on the hump of my chest freezer. 2 gal, 3 gal, whatever. Just want something that fits in there along side the 2 Carboys.

    Need a plastic rectangular fermentor

Looking for a 5 gal (ish) fermentor that can sit on the hump of my chest freezer (while it holds my other 2 carboys) which I use as a fermentation chamber. The dimensions are 5"x7" and about 15" tall. I'm assuming a plastic bpa container will do the trick. Anything you can recommend??

Stupid bayou classic won't stay lit

I've heard people say using a compressed air hose will do wonders for blasting out clogged holes on propane burners.

    Tap Water for StarSan?

I use hose water for my star San. 2oz for 2 gallons. I store it for weeks in glass 1 gal jugs and fill my spray bottles with it. Never had an infection, never had a problem. Also have won numerous completions with my beer. Don't sweat it.
