    How long can you keep the mead in beer bottles. I also have some swing top 1liter bottles. WOuld they be better for long term storage.     Made a batch of pumpkin ale. Left it in primary one week and rack to secondary. As per directions. added two cans of pumpkin purée to the boil. OG reading was 1.05 Before racking I took gravity reading was 1.010. A little lower then directions said had final gravity is 1.014 - 1.012. Moved...

    Liquid yeast stored room temp for 3 weeks

    Thanks, it started last night somewhere around 40 hours. Also thanks for the tip that all yeast needs to be in fridge as I have another with dry yeast in it as well. Will definitely look into starters next time. Can't wait to taste the first batch. Already have next few recipes lined up.
