Equally Obnoxious Hockey Trash Talk Thread, eh?

Ottawa is f'n killing me. Erik's slump, owner is a complete idiot and the city is mainly government workers meaning less corporate sales (typically the main driver in season ticket sales) Add together, bad owner, mediocre product, and unsupportive fan base and it doesn't look good for the future

    Iphone into perfect wort....

because you got the phone out so quickly, its new and water resistant that probably saved the phone. The phone being new probably means it doesnt have the bacteria that say my phone would have.... personally I still would have boiled it again for a minute or 2 as my phone is exposed to everything.

Can i bottle my beer in plastic Tupperware bottles?

Not yet and I have no reason too as I have a bunch of bottles... with that said everyone says the are for a vacuum seal pressure and not outward pressure. Since I wanted to do it at one point I did a lot of reading and research to find not one experience of an exploding jar. The worse case was...

Can i bottle my beer in plastic Tupperware bottles?

ever think bout 500ml mason jars? Although clear, if you store them in a dark place, they should be fine with pressure, easy to sterilize and very easy to reuse... plus no capping.

Domino "Dots" Sugar Cubes in Canada?

I get what your saying but Domino dots are not available in most of, if not all of Canada. I believe our sugar cubes are bigger. 4 grams and consistent... they still wont fit. The only place you might get lucky is specialty shops like goodness me etc. Or see how big individual pouches are...

Domino "Dots" Sugar Cubes in Canada?

Domino is not a big player in Canada for sugar. Instead go with Red Path or Lantic. Most major retailers will stock these items. https://www.loblaws.ca/Food/Pantry/Baking-Ingredients/Sugar-%26-Sweeteners/White-Sugar-Cubes/p/20795981_EAt...

    Hydrometer reading

forgive my ignorance as I am also new to home brewing. If your making beer with such a high SG, and there is no real negative for leaving a beer too long to ferment, what made you choose to bottle after 18 days? What I did for my first batch (my GF was 1.005) I adding my priming sugar to my...

    newb question when to bottle

I started using the pre-made wort by brew house, the india pale ale one. My starting gravity before pitching the yeast was 1.055 as I only diluted with 4L (roughly 1 american gallon) instead of the 8L they recommended. This was Wednesday Nov 15th. On Monday November 20th, I transferred it to...

Air lock ran dry on first day of fermenting

My first time fermenting... apparently I didnt leave enough head space and I had kausen coming out my airlock. learned quickly about blow offs. I dont think I will ferment without one now. So far its infection free.

    Hello from Barrie Ontario

Not a chance she will let me stink up the house. A propane burner outside is about the only option for me. I went to the creemore 25th anniversary copper kettle festival. Amazing time and beers. Since Molson/Coors bought them they haven't changed recipes but they have added a lot more beers...

    Hello from Barrie Ontario

I love springwater. Such a nice small quiet place. I wish it was that easy. She doesn't drink at all as she is allergic to alcohol. The upside is... I always have a designated drive.

    Hard to read hydrometer

I put my sample in a hydrometer jar and left it while I siphoned by beer into the secondary. Once I was done, the foam was gone and a good clear reading can be taken.
