Leave it in your bathtub for a few hours?

    Should I dump my beer?

So I attempted a BIAB version of the Miller Lite Clone that I found posted on HBT, unfortunately I did something wrong, probably didn't use enough water and I don't think my grains were crushed fine enough to get everything out of the BIAB setup... But my gravity was way low. I obviously...

    Northern Brewer Price hike

I buy everything from AHS now. I always spend $100, so I get $5 shipping and I live in north Texas so I always get it next day.

    Another exploding bottle thread...

So after 2 months fermenting it still explodes, what was my original problem, causing it to get stuck then start fermenting again after bottled?

    Horrible mead help

So... I made a batch 3 months ago... I know it's still young but I just took the first gravity reading since brewing. I used about 15 lbs of honey for 5.5 gallons, or there about. OG was 1.092, put in some yeast nutrient an yeast energizer I re-hydrated 2 packets of D47 yeast in some luke...

    Another exploding bottle thread...

That's what's throwing me off, some of them sat for over 6 weeks.

    Another exploding bottle thread...

I was just basing it off of the recipe sheet. Finished within 2 points of what the recipe said.

    Another exploding bottle thread...

Help me out here... After doing a lot of brewing this summer, for myself and some friends I think I figured out I was fermenting WAY to hot. House was 78 degrees... fermenting was probably 80? Over the past 3 or 4 months I've brewed then bottled several different beers, and EVERY SINGLE...

    Vigorous Fermentation = Lost Volume

What do you have wrapped around it?

    Raspberry Wheat Ale... Secondary time?

Yeah, my wife loves the Lambic Framboise, so I tried making a raspberry creme ale... Not even close, it kind of turned out like an over carbonated sour wine. One day I'll try again.

    Fermenting Hot

OK, so I just convinced my wife, if her Racer 5 clone comes out funky tasting its because of how hot it was fermenting, and I have to use our chest freezer with a temperature controller for summer brewing, she agreed. What's the sweet spot for most strains, 65, 70 degrees?

    Fermenting Hot

Yeah, it's really weird how cool it's been, mid 90s right now, been around 100 for a few weeks... Last year or the year before it was about 110 every day.

    Fermenting Hot

I'm probably going to have to just get some type of frige, my problem is not buying the frige but finding space for it! So far I've had luck with lighters beers, did a Boddington clone, Orange Cream Ale, have a Racer 5 that's almost done and it tasted pretty good. I'm getting all of the...

    Fermenting Hot

I started a Racer 5 clone IPA 6 days ago, it's been fermenting in my house at 78 degrees... Is it too late to put it into a swamp cooler setup to bring the temp down, or just roll with it how it is? The first suggestion of putting it in the bathtub was great, I have a guest bathroom that...

    Fermenting Hot

Need some advice on what I should be doing during the summer for brews. I've brewed 3 stout/porter dark beers now this summer, every single one of them has a varying degree of butterscotch smell, (diacetyl?) from what I'm guessing is too hot of a fermentation temp - around 79 degrees...

Blonde Ale Miller Lite (Really Triple Hopped)

I had a question about the all grain version. I don't have an all grain setup per se, but I've been doing mini mash, since this is such a small grain bill could I do the all grain the same way? I have a 30 qt. pot.

    FG too high.. Fermentation stuck?

Did you add the required amount of water to have the finished amount of wort at 5 1/4 gallons, shake well then take your sample for the gravity reading? Did you add the alcohol boost they sell with the kits as an option?

    Fruit question.

I was under the impression that a minimum of 140 degrees was required to kill bacteria. . .

    FG too high.. Fermentation stuck?

Amazing... I search google for "homebrew FG too high" and this is the first thing that pops up... I search because I just racked my AHS ORANGE CREAMSICLE into the secondary and the FG was, wait for it... 1.022! I did the mini mash kit. I was having heating issues... if higher heat equates to...

Ideal fermentation temps in a closet

So if you can't get it wet, I'm not sure if it'd work on my bucket, with the bucket being in water.
