    Weird carbonation

I bottled my Burning Pants Pale ale (my pants melted while carrying my keg through the door :-s) on March 16th. 5 days later, I popped a bottle to see how flat it was. Oh surprise, the beer was foaming like if I had previously shook it. I thought that was a very fast carbonation for a change. I...

    Looking for a malt mill

I recently purchased a Victoria mill, paid 50$ and can't be happier. I got 78% efficiency during my first batch with it! I installed it in a bucket (there is thread about it and it's powered by a drill). I didn't have the justification for the >$150 for a roller mill and I really don't see any...

    Best Way to Store Bottles

I clean them with pink powder, let to drain up side down for a couple o hours, then I put a small piece of aluminum foil on top and sanitize in the oven for 12 hrs at 250oF. Then I stored them until ready for bottling.

Dry Yeast - One or two pouches?

Great thanks! The airlock is already bubbling so it should be fine. I guess the first fermentation will be longer tough.

Dry Yeast - One or two pouches?

I've learned brewing by reading Palmer's book. He recommends using 2 pouches of dry yeast. I'm trying to cut costs and I used only one Safbrew WB-06 for a wheat beer today. Am I looking for troubles or are you all using only one pouch?

My Ugly Junk- Corona Mill Station...

I brewed today and used my Victoria for the first time. It went fast, I just needed to readjust for the malted wheat. Overall I got 80% efficiency from a batch sparge! I'm good with that result. As some said, I don't see why I would pay for a roller mill... Thanks to all of you who shared their...

My Ugly Junk- Corona Mill Station...

Done! A Victoria mill, hidden in a bucket. The top bucket is supported by over-the-door hooks (dollar store) so that I could store the bucket at the bottom of the bottom bucket to save space. I used 2 washer on each sides of the c clamp. I removed the cutter pin and inserted a 1-1/4 in 8/32...

My Ugly Junk- Corona Mill Station...

Ok!!!! After reading approx 60 pages of this teasing thread, I built my PIAP (pail in a pail, would've prefered bucket in a bucket but BIAB is already taken :-))) However, I see pictures of people using big a$$ drills! How long would last my small corded Black and Decker drill?? I read about low...

    Pasta Roller Grain Mill

I milled only about 20 lbs with it and the driving roller started generating shavings... It's rubbing against the casing since i'm using a drill and need to push the drill bit axially while grinding. I ended up insering a paper clip between the roller and the casing to act as a spacer and finish...

Grain Mill at OBK? Any experience?

Anyone bought the OntarioBeerKegs' Grain Mill actually at $109? It comes with a 7-lb hopper and has steel rollers so it looks like a bargain to me! It don't want to pay for the other mills that are over $150 but sinc ethis one is right between a Victoria Mill and the high end ones.......

my brewery build (as cheap a possible)

How is the stock pot from HH? Is the bottom thick enough to prevent scorching the wort (if you tried it on a gas burner)?

Callback79, I'm also located in Quebec City and was wondering where you found Star San as my local brew shop is not carrying this product. Thanks
