So after the struggle to get rpints working I too am finding phantom pours. I have the swiss flow meters about 8" from the keg as suggested. I leave the system running 24/7 and turn the HDMI connected monitor on/off when needed. Any suggestions? Weird... Could other things be interfering...

looks like I missed more than one step... response was unable to read /etc/init.d/flowmon

do I need to add jumpers to turn on the power to the flow meters as suggested in the attached? When I connect a power meter to the pins I get about 5 volts without the jumpers.
