    Brew Boss Systems

Having the attachment in the lid isn't as convenient as you'd think. The original brew boss (picobrew) had the sparge arm through the lid and it was always in the way. Really annoying when you just want the lid to be a lid.

    Does this look infected?

I would agree that the film seems a bit unsettling, however, even if it is infected it doesn't make it undrinkable. If it tastes good, bottle it up.

3L of yeast needed, but only a 2L flask

Check out this calculator: http://www.brewunited.com/yeast_calculator.php It will figure out all the steps for you. No need to store in a jar. I just cold crash and decant between steps. As for blowoff I highly recommend Fermcap-S for starters. After a few too many starter explosions I've...

Being that the panel is right where you want to brew I'd go with the gfci breaker. That's what I did and while it was a little more expensive it was worth it to me

Should I Brew It? (Mr. Beer)

Didn't we all get our start with Mr. Beer?

Should I Brew It? (Mr. Beer)

Mr. Beer doesn't make good beer when its fresh. Unless you like wasting time, I'd pass.

    Electric Bill

I have a Brew-Boss 240v and it tracks the energy costs on brew day. I think I saw $1.13 on the last brew day. Thats element and pump combined.

    Hop Pairing for an IPA?

Huge fan of Azacca. Maybe try a variation of my recipe? Would need to substitute for the Mosaic. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/showthread.php?t=455689&page=8

    1st Brew! Irish Red

Why the need for a secondary with this beer? I would have skipped that. I rarely do them now unless im adding something weird like fruit. Hell, even then I just toss everything in the primary most of the time.

I came up with this little web app to generate the step files for me. I generate the file then copy it to the tablet. Makes it a bit easier to edit. http://brewingintheburgh.com/brew-boss/index.html I should mention that it wont work in IE nor do I have any plans to make it work in IE.

I guess im blind. Totally missed that in the 500 times ive read that page. Edit: After reading that page I dont think those dimensions are accurate. It's saying the COFI is 22" tall but my kettle is only 21" and the COFI would need to be below the accessory port which sits at 19".

    Brew Boss Systems

I'm not custom designing the kettle, just the basket. I bought the 20G BrewBoss kettle. I already have the sizes I want for the basket but I just want to compare those to the COFI to see. The biggest issue is the temp probe from what I can tell. Mine pokes into the kettle about 2". I'm...

Does anyone have the 20G kettle with the COFI filter? Custom designing my own basket and I want to get some dimensions from someone.

Totally not the reefer I imagined when I clicked this.

If the panel is in the garage and you want to brew in the garage it should be easy. Shouldn't need a second panel. Are you out of slots to add additional breakers in your panel? If you have open slots, a gfci breaker, an outlet and some wire is all you need

Whatever you do buy the controller from Brew-Boss. Hands down this this the biggest benefit to this system and there is no other controller on the market that comes close to it in terms of ease of use and functionality.

I pulled the trigger on the 20g kettle and new element but I am not doing the COFI. Going to ArborFab directly to have one made and will make my own COFI style sparge arm.
