    Pennsylvania All must go!

Not right now because i dont think there will be much interest in the whole system without the camlocks. If someone wants the brew boss system but without the camlocks you will be first in line. I am not really sure how I would ship a 55lb bag of grain. Shipping the 2L flask kind of scares...

    Pennsylvania All must go!

It is with mixed emotions that I have decided to sell off all of my brewing equipment. I seem to have lost my passion for brewing and haven't used most of this stuff in about a year. I've decided to sell everything to reclaim the space in my garage and basement and also to raise funds for my...

ISO: Heady Topper FT: Zombie Dust

Picked up a 6 pack of Zombie dust and wondering if anyone would want to trade 2 bottles of this for 2 cans of heady topper? May as well kill 2 beer bucket list items at once.

    Nitrogen/Beer Gas Questions

I've found that I prefer to just set the keg directly on the beer gas instead of carbing it before hand. It takes a little longer to get carbed that way but I've had 0 issues with over carbonation since I started doing it this way.

For those of us too lazy for gelatin, time works too. A few weeks in the kegerator will clear up almost anything.

Getting a job at a brewery

This won't fly anymore with the new overtime laws going into effect at the end of the year. Anyone with a salaried position making less than like 50k per year will no longer be exempt from overtime pay. Although, I think some industries are still able to get around it somehow. I'm in the IT...

    Brew Boss Systems

You are missing something. My basket (and infusion tube) is custom made and I do install the tube after the basket is in the kettle.

    Brew Boss Systems

Cut the finger off of a latex glove and stick it over the top of the site glass when using the pump. I think I learned that from someone in this thread. Before using the glove I used to tape off the hole at the top of the sight glass which achieved the same thing. I acid-etched my last kettle...

    WLP001 Ferm Temp

I usually do 001 a little colder at 62-64F and bump it up to 68F after 10-14 days. Never had any issues.

What to do with a Cream Ale

I've added jalapeno to my cream of three crops on a few occasions. Turns out pretty good.

7 Pounds of Hops Arriving Tomorrow

    Brew Boss Systems

I have the either the 6" or 8" one (cant remember right now) and I find it perfect to set it right on the bottom of the kettle (20G). The 10.5" one would interefere with the element if I tried to do that. I like to sit the hop filter directly on the bottom of the kettle as I too brew mostly 5G...

    Brew Boss Systems

Not only would I, but I have. I've purchased 3 different systems from Darin now as he has evolved. Started out with his first 'picoBrew' system to the new 20G COFI style system and couldn't be happier. Not only is the equipment top notch but the support you receive is second to none. I've...

    Brew Boss Systems

I've taken to removing the pump head completely after cleanup and storing it with the rest of my TC fittings and element inside the kettle as well. Even with PBW and starsan recirculation I would still see some gross stuff in there after a few weeks of not using it. I drank one too many...

    Brew Boss Systems

Once you have the system, you've already made the move. The only thing you would need to buy is the grain. But you can brew extract on this as well. That would kind of be like buying a Ferrari that you use just to go to the end of the driveway to get your mail. There are a lot of cheaper...

    Brew Boss Systems

I would agree that the crush probably wasn't directly the cause for the scorched wort. However, too fine a crush could clog up your bag/basket and cause a "stuck sparge". When this happens with the Brew Boss it results in the wort inside the basket to be at a higher level than wort outside the...
