    Lallemand Verdant IPA Ale

My bitter hasn't cleared more over the two weeks since I packaged it which is a bit annoying. I had been hoping it would drop bright, as I dislike any sort of haze in my bitters and don't use auxiliary finings . Flavour is very good though and the vanilla aroma is interesting. I did use a new...

Beers/ales/Lagers from your past that you want to/have tried to clone...

I started drinking in the mid 90s, two of my favourite beers then were Maclays 80/- and also Deuchars IPA was a really good, nationally available ale. Unfortunately Maclays is no more and Deuchars has gone through a number of different owners, if memory serves it started to go downhill about 20...

    Italian Pilsner Discussion

Tipopils was a lovely beer last time I had it, quite a while ago now. I think the brewer was inspired by the bitterness of Jever, while it is quite a different beer the bitterness and dryness reminds me of it - not so much the extra hop flavours and aroma.

Some Tilt fermentation data for different dry yeasts

Nice. I think this would be a good idea for a thread on how the different yeasts perform, with as much supplementary info as possible Here is my most recent ferment with k97. one packet dry pitched into 21l of 10.48 wort. 83% AA. A golden ale with a hochkurz mash .notice the 24 hour lag period...

Made Belgian Candi syrup in the oven,...

I use the oven for invert, much easier than messing around with a pan on the hob. Demerara, some water, lactic acid, heat on hob till dissolved then place in the oven at 120c until desired colour is reached. It takes longer than using a gas hob but that's fine by me. I check the oven temp...

Name That Skyline - Picture Game

Very topical Would make a good topical theme for this thread for a while, cities/towns/townships and countries named after highly questionable individuals. Would also double as an education

Gardening: My Tomatoe and Pepper Progress

Nice. What variety of tomatoes are you growing? I've only got tigerella this year, from old seeds - was wanting to grow a few different ones but that plan got COVIDed my plants are taking off now, it takes a while for them to go this far north

English Ales - What's your favorite recipe?

Looks like Marstons and all their current brands will continue their race to the bottom https://www.marstons.co.uk/docs/jv/2020/Marstons_PLC_forms_JV_Partnership_with_Carlsberg_UK_220520.pdf Shame, compared to GK for example they did try to keep the brands they aquired going in their original...
